Response to my letter to ABC... - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In the mail today, I got a letter from the Walt Disney Company, with Mickey Mouse on it. I was wondering what this was from Disney, when I noticed the address on it matched the one to ABC (Disney owns ABC). I open the letter, and with the same letterhead as its envelope, and here is the following:

July 7, 2004

(my name and address info here)

Dear (my name):

This will acknowledge, with thanks, your recent letter addressed to ABC, Inc. requesting a reunion for one of our former shows. Your correspondence was forwarded to me for reply as it is our responsibility to respond to those who wish to share creative ideas with the Disney organization.

Although we appreciate your interest, I must explain that our company's long-established policy does not allow us to accept for review or consideration any ideas, suggestions, or creative materials not specifically solicited by us or our subsidiaries. Our intention is to avoid misunderstandings when projects are created internally which might be similar to submissions made to us from outside the company.

We recognize that this policy is sometimes a difficult one as when someone like yourself, with all the best intentions, would simply like us to consider her own creative idea. Experience has taught us, though, that if we abandon our policy for one person, we will soon have no policy at all. Therefore, as required, I am returning your letter, without retaining any copies.

We hope that you understand our policy. Please be assured of our thanks for your interest in writing to us.

Oh, I get the policy. It's just that
1) I did not appreciate my letter being returned, looking like it had been crumpled up like crazy (it even had staple holes in it!!) when I mailed it, unfolded and uncrumpled
and
2) I really don't care if they use my ideas...I just want a reunion special!

There is a main number that was listed on it, that being
(818) 560-1000.

Guys, I'm not giving up. I'm calling to let Mr. Winstead know exactly how I feel.

Aww sorry that it didnt work out yet Dee. That really sucks that they sent your letter back all crumbled up and it really sucks that they arent gonna do the reunion! Thats good that at least they wrote back, but wish it was better news tho. Hopefully there will be some way to get some reunion soon lol. Let us know what he says if you call him. Its weird tho, that even tho the reunion was your idea in that you asked them if they could make one happen, couldnt they still decide to make some tv reunion anyway? Or they just dont do any ideas just cuz other people wrote them about it - thats stupid lol. What if you asked them if they could at LEAST put HOTC on dvd lol?

I had called him later that day...his secretary told me he was on vacation. I left a message on his voicemail. That is the only call I'm going to make. No use to keep contacting him and come off as stalkerish.

What can ya do?
