Thumbs down

It's a tie between "Bad Old Days" and "Big Max Calvada". "Bad Old Days" was just a little too weird for me. There was nothing too bad about "Big Max Calvada" but Laura was only in it for about two scenes. I'd hate to say this and I know a lot of people might shun me for it but I'm not very fond of "It May Look Like a Walnut". I mean, I don't HATE it but I just think it's a little overrated. But remember this is just my opinion and I'm no one special.

I'm with you MtM fan. I found the walnut episode very weird, and to be honest, a little creepy. Laura acted so strange because, of course, it was a dream. Rob was so confused throughout the show, and I just felt bad for him. It had a horror movie feel to it.
The episode was, in my opinion, too much of a departure from its usual format.

I agree! I always thought I was the only one who didn't really like that episode. It seems that most people I come across have it as their favorite. I also can't stand "Racy Tracy Rattigan". I have never been able to watch it again since the first time I saw it. I can't stand the way he treats Laura or anything about him.

I really don't like the ones that centered around Sally. I always want to see more Rob and Laura than that.
And I just dislike Sally's birthday
and the deli guy as her secret admirer. And, really, why didn't she give that little guy a tumble? Was her life so great alone? Was he that much of a loser? I really felt for that little guy. She wouldn't "stumble." I guess the truth is they couldn't make him genuinely unattractive, that would seem cruel.
And I guess we've all felt the pain of someone truly unappealing liking
us. You just hurt for yourself and them. But the not giving someone a chance, being alone, being unhappy,
always complaining, and staying alone is very female. And no more appealing on tv than it is in life.
(Of course, Sally was willing to marry a deadbeat comic, and as Rob said "not a very nice man". Typical
woman lousy judgement there too.)
Uh-oh, I'm venting here. Sally
wouldn't listen to Rob about this stuff. (Just like real life.) Oh,
yeah, and then there was that
arrogant mortician she liked...

U also didn't like "Racy Tracy Rattigan" It was kind of disturbing to watch! lol. Also, I did like "The Twizzle" but then I read about it somewhere and it said that NO ONE liked it! I was like, I liked it! lol! Well, I atleast liked the part in the beginning where she flipped him over the couch and kissed him when he tried to sneak up on him! LOl!!! I thought that that was the FUNNIEST thing ever!!! anyone else like that one, or at least that part???

Yea! I thought the begining was so cute and then Sally came and ruined it! Come to think of it she's ruined other kisses, too. Like the one in "Like a Sister".

I loved that flip also! Too bad it had to be in one of the worst episodes. The song "The Twizzle" was alright the first time I heard it, but after that it seemed stupid. There just wasn't anything to it. Still, I think there were other episodes that are worse. I also don't like the ones will Sally as well, or Buddy for that matter. There were also a few of the flaskbacks that I didn't think were that great, mainly the ones from the army when Rob and Laura were dating. Overall, I still think that most of the episodes were great, and out of 158, I only have about 10-15 that I didn't think were that good.

Those are arrogant, sexist remarks. Sounds like someone doesn't like women too much or has a low opinion of them.

I was gonna say something but I thought I'd let it be (ah a Beatles song! R.I.P. George, or is 'Let It Be' just a Paul song?) sorry off track there, anyway he's entitled to his opinion just as we are. But let's now think of how most men are portrayed on tv. Stupid, lazy and child-like. Hmm looks like the battle of the sexes never ends.

I didn't mean to sound nasty but it just ended up that way. Rose Marie
just couldn't really carry an episode. But as anyone gets older,
ya see more and get more cynical
about everyone. We like sitcoms
because they are sorta modern fables
with tell-us-again happy endings about life as we wish it was. There
aren't many super-nice guys like Rob Petrie, great women like Laura, or nice unmessy lives. But Sally is
a kinda truthful character. And you do see more of her in life. And I doubt the writers saw her as a happy or even smart character. They took her from life. Don't you think they
were sorta venting with her character? And truth is more bitter. Sorry if I went overboard. I sorta realized as I was writing it. But I do think Sally woulda been better
with the deli guy or Herman than those cats. Don't ya think? Sorry
if I made you mad.

Cool

No offense taken. Yes, I agree Sally let a few opportunities slip away, but that can't-find-a-man theme was an integral part of her character. If she settled down, they'd be no story for her.
I actually think Rose Marie did a great job on the show. I always got a kick out of her over the top personality. Morey Amsterdam and Richard Deacon were a terrific talents too, in my opinion.

what kiss did she ruin in "Like a Sister"? I can't remember, surpirsingly! lol

and did anyone else love to see rob and laura kiss? I know that sounds weird, ok, really weird, but still, I just loved the episodes where they kissed! They looked so perfect for eachother, I always wished they were married in real life. And I always got mad when they would be kissing and someone would come in and ruin it. I know that sounds weird but o well lol

It was when Laura and Rob were on the sofa kissing, and Sally rang the doorbell. Rob asked Laura to get it because he was busy, and she said "So am I". When Sally asked if they were interupting anything Rob said, "Yeah, we were necking."

I agree. I always thought they looked perfect together. Dick has said that he was nervous about kissing Mary at first, but then he said that he grew to enjoy kissing her. It makes me sad that they've now admitted that they had crushes on each other, but never told the other back then.

Another one of my favorite kisses is in "Buddy, Can You Spare a Job?" when Rob comes home. When he kisses Laura, he spins and dips her. I loved the expression on her face when he dips her down.

I get a real kick out of reading these "Worst Episode" posts because people's opinions vary so much. Me, I love "Racy Tracy Rattigan," but then I love Richard Dawson and I think he played that part perfectly. However, I can see where the character could bother some people and if Richard weren't the one playing it, I might not like Tracy either.
