Default Serious problum! Help!

See, a few weeks ago my mom noticed an ant on a light above the laundrey room. She got the fly swater and wacked it. Bad idea. Soon, thousands of ants started crawling out of the light fixture. We smacked and crushed most of them, but they kept coming, so my mom god this bug spray she had gotten to kill all the roaches living in the backyard, and started spraying them. Before long, all the ants we could see were dead. We called the exterminater.

The next day, me and my mom had to packup all the animals and leave the house so that the exterminator could spray the house. Me and my pets stayed at a buddys house and in 4 hours, we went back home. Everything looked great.

The next day went great. I didn't see a single ant. But, at night I saw one on the counter! I told my mom and we called the exterminator again. Once moor, we left and came back in 4 hours.

The NEXT days were good, but on the fifth day I found 3 ants on the computer desk. Once again I told my mother and she got real mad. So, I need advice.

What now!? Do we complain to the housing people? Yell at the extermonaitors, or evacuat the house and have it checked over.?

Use raid on the remaining ones... and stop leaving food or candy out.

never use spray with ants, you aren't accomplishing anything if it is not killing the queen(s) - exterminators generally use bait and traps, so the workers can carry poison back to the queen

call the exterminator again, complain, and move out

hmm... they're probably outside and keep coming back for a reason. you still might wanna check, we have a big house and i left these chocolate candys in my desk and it wasn't really a place I'd check so they kept coming back and I ended up finding the opened bag of candy. They were already gone by then though. Haha.

You might wanna check around just incase, they could even be going after a few crumbs behind the couch or something. It sucks.

We've tried traps before.(We've had the ants since we got here.)But they never seem to work. ::sigh::

I don't think food is it. These ants are carpenter ants. The big, red, fat ones. They are realy scary to me 'cause when I was little(2) I was living in coneticut and I had sandles on. I was going for a walk with my mom and when she called to me I stoped moving and stared at her, ready to go toward her. Then, I felt somethin hurting on my foot. I looked down and screamed. Red ants were everywhere on my foot, biting me. I still have scars to this day. Ever scince then, I've never liked ants. They realy freak me out!

You really want to get rid of all the ants? I suggest you get a flamethrower! Torch the place! Make those ants flee in terror! Burn their little bodies to a crisp! But maybe setting traps would be more efficient.

I'm assuming she was looking for something a little more legal, lol.

I don't have any advice, but I wish you good luck with this!

If you don't kill the queen using spray isn't solving anything. I don't know what to tell you. There's got to be something left out laying around somewhere otherwise they wouldn't come back.

Listen to Me.
Stop calling the exterminator. He'll charge you an arm and a leg for something you can do yourself.
Go get yourself some Tero Ant Killer. You can buy it in most any store. It's a gooey liquid that you put on little pieces of cardboard and place them where you have seen ants(put them out of reach of small children and pets of course, because if they ate it... well, it would be bad).
Anyway, I swear this stuff kills them ALL, and not just for weeks or months. We've used this stuff 2 years ago when we first moved in to our new place and we haven't seen an ant since. And any place we have ever lived and had a problem with ants, this stuff always took care of it!
Maybe you should tell your exterminator about it.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Tero really works! Just keep your pets away from it because it can be harmful to them.
