Question Blanche's ethnicity

What was Blanche's ethnicity? Did she ever mention it? I know Sophia and Dorothy are Italian (Sicilian) and Rose is Scandinavian. Also, what town in Georgia did Blanche say she was from? I thought it might be Atlanta or Augusta, but I'm not sure.

I have another question that came to mind. What was Sophia's maiden name? Her married name is Petrillo and then she married Max Weinstock, so it changed to Petrillo-Weinstock. And before we found out she was married once before Salvatore to Guido Spirelli.

Blanche was born somewhere in Georgia, but it's never been certain exactly where. Her Grammy, whom she spent a lot of time with, lived somewhere outside of Atlanta. She had mentioned Augusta, Georgia as well when tracing her roots.

As for Sophia's maiden name, I'm not sure we ever knew. It was Sophia _________ Spirelli Petrillo Weinstock. I don't know what it is. Sorry...

I just remembered something. Didn't Blanche find out she was part Jewish? I think it was in the episode when she wanted to join a club for southerners.

Blanche is 7/8 Southern and 1/8 Jewish. She is from Atlanta. The woman's last name is Feldman and is from Buffalo, NY.

Blanche isn't Jewish. She told the Priest that Dorothy dated she was a baptist, after embarrasing herself.

In the first place, yes it is true that Blanch is a baptist. However, it is also true that one eighth of her herotage is that of a Jew and that one eighth comes fro Buffelo, New York. He great-grandmother's last name is Feldman.

Yes, Blanche did find out she was part Jewish. Being Jewish has nothing to do with just your name. Remember, it can be both an ethnicity and a religion. As a matter of fact, I have a personal friend who was born in Louisiana, raised strict Baptist, but converted to Judism for marriage.

The answer about Blanche being 1/8 Jew and the rest Southern Baptist is correct. And we assume because most of her roots are in the south, then she is probably mainly of British decent.

Yes, she would be one of many Anglo-Saxon (British Isles) southerners, well, Americans in general. However, in that one episode, it was revealed that she had one person in her line who was a jew, from Buffalo, New York. But yes, she is Anglo-Saxon. And while we're on this subject, her husband, Devereaux, would be one of the southerners of French descent.
