Default Teen queen Lohan inks record deal

This is from the Celebrity Buzz section of the Daily Freeman.

Quote:
Lindsay Lohan is now a Hollywood hyphenate.

Lohan, the 18-year-old star of "Mean Girls", "Freaky Friday", "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" and "The Parent Trap" has signed a record deal with Tommy Mottola's Casablanca Records.

"It's a long-term contract," Peter LoFrumento, a representative for Casablanca's parent company, Universal Music Group, told the Associated Press on Monday.

No other details were released, but if her singing voice - heard on the "Freaky Friday" and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" soundtracks - is an indictation, Lohan's tunes will probably be pure pop.

"Right now she needs to get into the studio and get down to work," LoFrumento said.

Sad state of affairs in the music industry. Anyone can get a record deal these days if they're already famous and physically attractive. You don't need musical talent anymore.

Anyone wonder anymore why most of the music I listen to is older than me?

Joe
(Petty)

My name's Joe
I'm the CEO
Yeah, I'm the man
Makes the big wheels roll
I'm the hand on
The green light switch
You get to be famous
I get to be rich
Go get me a kid
With a good-looking face
Bring me a kid
Can remember his place
Some hungry poet
Son of a bitch
He gets to be famous
I get to be rich

Or bring me a girl
They're always the best
You put 'em on stage
And you have 'em undress
Some angel whore
Who can learn a guitar lick
Hey, now that's what I call music

Well they'll come lookin' for money
When the public gets bored
But we'll fight 'em with lawyers
They could never afford
Yeah, I'll make her look
Like a spoiled little bitch
She gets to be famous
I get to be rich

Or bring me a girl
They're always the best
You put 'em onstage
And you have 'em undress
Some angel whore
Could learn a guitar lick
Hey, now that's what I call
Music

So burnt-out Johnny
Thinks our books are shifty
What good's that alchi to me
When he's fifty
We could move catalog
If he'd only die quicker
Send my regards to the gig
And a case of good liquor
He gets to be famous
I get to be rich
He gets to be famous
I get to be rich

My name's Joe, I'm the CEO
I'm the man makes
The big wheels roll

for all these actors who wish to sing...

DO YOU REMEMBER BRUCE WILLIS, DON JOHNSON, CHERYL LADD, LYNDA CARTER, ANSON WILLIAMS, JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT, JOEY LAWRENCE, JENNIFER LOPEZ (yes, she's had success, but artistically she is no better than your Bruce or Lynda's music), VICTORIA PRINCIPLE and other tv/movie stars who decided to sing for vanity?

For once I agree with you SBTB Geek.

She's not a bad singer but I'm not saying she's good either

Lindsay says her music while be a cross between hip hop and rock
