"Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Mark Steines has replaced Bob Goen as co-anchor, with Mary Hart, of the veteran entertainment-news show.
"Mark's exceptional reporting style, on-air presence and commitment to journalistic perfection have made him a valued member of our 'ET' family," said Greg Meidel, president of programming at Paramount Domestic Television, the show's producer and distributor. The change takes effect immediately. Steines joined "ET" in 1995 as a correspondent and substitute anchor. In 1998, he added anchor duties at "ET Weekend." Goen, meanwhile, had notified Paramount that at the end of the season, in August, he wanted to pursue other career opportunities after 10 years at 'ET," according to the studio and Goen's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield. Paramount subsequently offered him the development deal, which Rosenfield said could include game shows, reality series or any type of show with Goen "and a combination of stars" on camera. In addition, ESPN's "SportsCenter" anchor Kevin Frazier has been named anchor of "Entertainment Tonight Weekend," starting Sept. 18. The anchor change at "ET" is the second in recent weeks for the entertainment newsmagazines as Pat O'Brien recently left "Access Hollywood" to host Paramount's "The Insider," with Billy Bush taking over as co-anchor on "Access." |
