Ok, so here's the deal..
I am almost POSITIVE that back in 88 or 89 I saw an episode of UM that involved a haunted house and something about an old coin (I'm even certain it was an old nickel). The coin was found in a hidden part of the basement. When the new resident moved the coin (which even had a spot of clean floor under it), a series of unexplained events went down. I remember some really, really scary atmosphere and music. I believe it was featured on an episode involving a lost gold mine in the old west or something. I've checked the episode guide, but am not seeing it anywhere. I was pretty young back then, but I have had a razor-sharp memory all my life. I hope someone here remembers this... Also, how about an episode where an old guy gets abducted and his truck is stolen. The police found the truck the next night and found a hotel room key on the passenger side floor. The hotel room key opened a room in a run-down hotel and there was blood all over the place! That episode made a huge impression on me. Can someone tell me more about this case, also? |

I haven't seen either one of those, but the second one you mentioned sounds really creepy....like something out of "Se7en."

I'm not sure if this is the second case that you're talking about, but the Don Smith case comes to mind. He was traveling and he stopped in at a bar to see his daughter. He had an unknown black man with him that was driving his truck. He was drunk and beligerent which made his daughter mad and she left the bar with her friends. That was the last time she saw him. A while later (I'm not sure how long) his body was found and he had been murdered. Then after that his truck was involved in a hit and run accident where the unknown driver got out of the truck and fled. I don't remember if they found a hotel key or not but I know they come to be in a hotel room where they did find bloody clothes. As far as I know they've haven't found him.

Yeah, that's the one! Thanx!
But I'm still pulling my hair out over the first case above. I'm Almost certain it was a first season episode, too. BTW, anyone have any more details about the hotel key murder? I could use a trip down memory lane. |
