Talking Cases That You Really Want To See, But You Haven't Yet

There are many cases that I want to see that I haven't seen from the late 80's and early 90's. What about you guys? What are cases that you've heard of and you want to watch it really badly?!

Two cases that I've heard of that sound really interesting are the Tara Calico case and the Nyleen Kay Marshall case. They both sound really interesting. I hope Lifetime will air them soon!

Sad Tara Calico

is perhaps the most talked about case on these boards which is amazing being that very few people have probably seen it, because apparently it has only been aired once or twice by lifetime and that was back when they had their 1 AM slot open for "Unsolved Mysteries". Some feel that is due to certain segments just not being rotated because of questionable content and I doubt "Lifetime" will put cases like this back into circulation anytime soon. Another one like that that I have yet to see is the one where a bunch of teenagers robbed a house, murdered the family then threw a party and videotaped the whole thing.

I've seen most every case with the exception of a few cases from the later 90s (96-onwards) and the newer lifetime ones (which I don't think are that interesting) and most of them with the exception of "mothman" are repeated constantly.

One case I wouldn't mind seeing again is about this elderly man from I believe the northeast who ran a aquarium where he stored rare fish, he had recently gotten married again and had a successful business but one day while making a delivery he was attacked and apparently suffered amnesia and disappeared.

They thought he might have become engulfed into the world of the homeless and there were numerous sightings of him around the country. UM finally did locate him and reunited him with his wife and indeed he did suffer amnesia from the attack but sadly did not remember his wife anymore and chose to persue a divorce and remain where he was instead of returning home.

Later.

The abduction of Nyleen Kay Marshall brought me to this message board last year. She disappeared from a family picnic in the Elkhorn Mountains in Montana in June 1983. The abductor contacted Montana police in 1986 and sent two letters claiming to have a girl named 'Kay' and the letters contained details that were not known to the public. The abductor claimed he earned an investment income, worked at home and taught Kay. The police believe Nyleen Kay Marshall is being kept in the Dane County area in Madison, Wisconsin. The letters had Madison postmarks. Dane County Police believe Nyleen Kay Marshall has been raised in Wisconsin for the past 21 years by her abductor without her knowing she was a kidnap victim and reopened the case in 2002.

The man that owned a fish farm and has amnesia is Craig Williamson, but he might be going under a different name now. When his wife found him, he had said that he learned that his name was Craig Williamson but he didn't know who Craig Williamson was.

It's so sad that him and his wife had to get a divorce. It's very apparent that his wife really loved him and cared for him because she went through so much trying to find him. Very sad.

I would have to say the elusive 1995 story JohnMills mentioned about the murdered Louisiana couple. I saw it once on NBC, and thought it was one of the more scary/disturbing UM cases I had seen up to that point. I even remember dreading seeing it in reruns on Lifetime. Guess I don't have to worry about that...

I agree, from what I remember of it, that was a very disturbing story, and I lived in the Louisiana at the time!! I do remember when it was first shown it was on the same episode as the Randal Utterback case (the guy who stalked and kidnapped his girlfriend, but she later escaped). I have no idea why it only appeared to have been shown once. Does anyone out there remember the name of the couple so I can do an internet search about this case? It also seemed like the couple had a baby and they found the baby unharmed. Is that right?

I don't remember names, but here is some more information.

I believe the episode aired on either 1/13/95 or 4/14/95. My guess would be it aired in January. I seem to remember the story about the WWII subs. Speaking of which, does anyone remember seeing this story re-broadcast on Lifetime?

My most vivid memories are of an interview with a guy who claimed to have seen a videotape made during the party. He couldn't track down a copy of the tape, although I can't remember why.

I believe the couple were shot to death, and the police deemed it a murder-suicide (the man shot his wife, and turned the gun on himself).

I also remember something about a tape recorder. Maybe there was a recorded conversation in which someone confessed(?)

If anyone has a copy of this episode, or knows more information, PLEASE post.

Thanks,
Justin

Question Randal Utterback

Hey crystaldawn, can you further explain the Randal Utterback case? I want to know if I've already watched it or not.

It was a teenage girl who met this older man (probably 20's or 30's I'm not sure) they started dating but he would try to control her by telling her what to wear, what not to wear, who she could and couldn't have as friends and would berate her in public. She finally broke it off and he would stalk her and try to get her to take him back. One scene I remember he ran her off in the road in his car and put her in his car and took off while part of her was still hanging out of the car. I can't remember exactly how, but she got away quickly. She is still living in fear that he'll come back and get her. This is one case that, as far as I know, has not been solved and I've always thought it was one that should have been solved easily.

Cool Thanks

I think I've seen that case crystaldawn, thank you.

Did anyone here see the Whacker (sp?) case today 7/14/04? They were an elderly couple who were harassed for ten years by a suspicious man. First their house would get ransacked. Then the man tricked the old woman into letting him use her phone. Her husband wasn't home so she was assaulted, and later woke in her kitchen bound and gagged. On the wall the assaulter wrote in crayon “cheaper, but will do.” The police couldn’t make any sense of this message and neither could the Whackers. During the first assault the man stole many items like a gun, a movie camera, and many more. About four months after the assault all of their items were returned and no one ever saw the man bringing the items. The man started give phone calls now. They were very threatening. The Whackers even changed their phone number but still the unknown man found it out. Then there was banging outside and during this the old lady received her second assault. She survived the attack. After that the Whackers got lights built outside. And notes appeared on their front porch saying, “your lights are a laugh,” and “scum bag” and stuff like that. The Whackers then had people patrolling outside of their house. The unknown left another note without anyone seeing him come.

This has to be one of the most bizarre cases I ever saw. The guy’s picture was so scary. I hope he gets caught one day.

I think I've seen most (if not all) but there are several I don't remember very well. I'm interested in seeing the Katherine Korzilius story. I was just reading a thread about it.

Yes! If I remember she was on the phone with her boyfriend I think. The boyfriend came over to the phone booth but she was already gone.

The case of the woman abducted fromt he phone booth is the Angela Hammond case. You'll find lots of information on the case here on this message board.

One case I haven't seen in years is the Connecticut River Valley Killer from the '80's. There is evidence to suggest this killer was active as recently as 2004, so I am quite surprised it hasn't aired.
