Default Here are the ratings for Three's a Crowd after the 1984-85 TV Season

TAC finished the 84-85 season ranked #45-tied with Miami Vice. Guess that ranking wasn't high enough for ABC to choose Different Strokes instead of TAC for the 1985-86 season. I'm guessing DS was ranked somewhere between 31-44 to pick up the show from NBC.

I don't know where you got #45 from.

From a documentary I think, maybe E! THS or ET special. I think #45 might have meant total viewers, because it certainly was #38 in the Nielsens. I don't think Diff'rent Strokes was in the top 40 in the 84-85 season. ABC probably picked it up only to have a nice family block on Fridays in the 85-86 season. Both Webster and Diff'rent Strokes aired that night.

If I'm not mistaken, DS was like #42 or #43 that season.

I've always read that it was ranked #38, too, although pavanbadal does seem to have a good explanation for it.

I didn't say I "heard" it was #38. I said I don't remember where I saw it, but it was at one of those two places. And why would I list it as #38 on my website if I wasn't 100% sure? Like I said, it WAS #38 for that season in the Nielsen's and probably #45 for total viewers. You do know that Nielsen ratings is a household number right? And total viewers is actually how many watched the show?

I never said I "may have heard it." I DID hear it, but I don't remember where, since this was a while back, maybe 1998 or 1999.

And more proof, turn to page 266 of the Three's Co book, and read under the heading "The Trip is Over." Clearly says #38 there, too. Also, read page 273, it talks about how Three's a Crowd was a top 10 show in the summer and saved Who's the Boss?

I read somewhere on the internet that ABC was considering bringing back TAC as a midseason replacement fot the 85-86 season, but the cast didn't want to be put on "hold". Do you know if there is any truth to this?

Uh, I've read it in the TC book by Chris Mann. Yes, I do realize that Pavanbadal can be wrong; anyone can be wrong.

You still don't understand do you? You said you went to college, yet you still have reading problems. Didn't I explain what the #45 could be?? It WAS #38 in the Nielsens, I have two sources for it.

You need to read more carefully. Because some of the things you say makes no sense. Like when you said you thought I "MAY" have heard that it was #38. I never said I may have. I know it was #38 but didn't remember WHERE I heard it exactly, but I DID hear it.
