Default Reviving

Sorry to revive such an old post, but I'm new and have been going through all of the entries (I wanted to respond to all of them, but I've been merciful!).

There isn't much fan fiction out there that I'm aware of...but then, there wasn't any Singin' In The Rain fan fiction until I got that ball rolling (at least, not to my knowledge).

It would be nice to see good, solid fan fiction written by a few folksk who really know their way around the written word.

folksk = folks

Sorry 'bout that! Helps if a writer knows how to spell, too!

I have an idea. In some other boards I was once in, we would all write a story together. Somebody would write one chapter, and then the person would ask someone else to continue, or someone would volunteer to contine by writing the next chapter. I would love to write a fan fic, it's just I don't have enough time. If we would all write a chapter, it would get done a lot faster, and there would be a lot of different types of writing and ideas in it. So somebody would write the first chapter, and then each person would follow with the next? Do you guys understand what I'm saying???? I'm such a bad explainer, you probably don't. But... if you DO understand, tell me what you think.

That's called a Round Robin and it can be fun, but the result is usally pretty horrible!

Really? I guess I am stupid then! I never knew that! Most of them that I have done though, have turned out really good and creative. Some though.... which you're right... can turn out to be gastly!

Problem I have found with this is that you get an odd mix of writers: Some who write very, very well, others who write but are still learning, and others who are trying their hand at writing for the first time....and an awful lot of people who just want to get a fantasy down on paper without worrying about characterization or plot. It sometimes makes for excruciating reading!

Very true! Which reminds me, my friend Amanda-Sarah and some others who were writing the story, WERE good writers and were studying to be so. Soooo I see how that could turn. But, you never know, it could be our hidden talents!
