Hi all,
"Laura Petrie" is my dream woman. She was nearly the defintion of the word "perfection" -- pretty, beautiful and cute all at the same time . . . with an unbelievable figure! She was cheery, intelligent and so loving. When she would get flustered, cry and babble almost incoherently (like when Rob caught her in the middle of the [hair] undyeing job, when she had to tell Rob she'd lied about her age, or when she had to tell Rob she'd told a national TV audience about Alan Brady being bald), she was so incredibly adorable! Had the show been real life, and had *I* been her husband, I would've had a really hard time ever leaving the house . . . or ever keeping my hands off of her for even a minute. The only thing I *didn't* like about Laura was her insecurity. Even though her husband obviously adored her and wasn't the least bit interested in anybody else, she needed constant reminders of his love and faithfulness. She, of all people, had NO reason to be jealous of *anyone*, yet she was insanely jealous of any woman who came within a hundred yards of her husband. And, she was always unjustifiably suspicious of him. *That* I couldn't tolerate. ------------------ Later, Art [This message has been edited by Artfiore1 (edited 06-12-2001).] [This message has been edited by Artfiore1 (edited 06-12-2001).] |

Art,I understand perfectly about Laura and I agree that she is a Dream-Woman!WOW,WHAT A GAL!She is the kind of woman many, many, many men would want as a wife!
My favorite scenes with Laura were the dream sequence where she was a Playboy Bunny(Her figure was fabulous),the two scenes were she was in a tennis dress(I'd play a LOVE-set with her anytime),and the scenes in the, "Henry Walden,"episode where she was in that gorgeous gown! Now that TVLand has given up DVD for now I'm glad I have those scenes recorded on tape for me to see when I want to. |

Richard,
I have one on tape in which she's wearing the tennis outfit. But, I've never seen this Playboy bunny thing. Which episode is that?? By the way, "TVLand has given up DVD for now"? To my knowledge, it's still on all week long at both 9:00 a.m. & 1:30 a.m. Eastern Time. I think the show will continue at those times, even after the "Love Boat Launch." ------------------ Later, Art |

The episode in question is episode 5 of season 1,"Washington vs.the Bunny."The plot was that Rob had to go to Washington on a business trip, but regretted missing seeing a school pagent where Richie will be the Main Bunny.Rob has a dream that night of being told by Laura(dressed as a Playboy Bunny)to see the bunny and then she uses him as a puppet on a string.
Wrtier Carl Reiner admitted that he included that scene for purient reasons of wanting to see Mary in a Playboy Bunny costume.I felt slightly closer to Carl after readinf that. ------------------ Richard Ranke |
