Default the Frasier on Cheers vs. the Frasier on Frasier

I'm sure there's been threads about this before, but I can't find them.

It just seems he was a big beer guy at Cheers, yet is a total sherry guy in Seattle.

He liked beernuts and a night at Little Wally's Pup N Burger, yet frowns on the steakhouse when taken there by his dad or any other junkfood.

He always watched tv with the others at the bar, yet hates his dad watching so much.

Any other changes you guys noticed as well?

He owned a dog named Pavlov on Cheers, yet hated Eddie on Frasier.

That one still annoys me.

As for everything else -- he just wanted to fit in.
But in Seattle, he already made it big, people came to him -- he didnt have to go to the people -- so he could act natural. (or as natural as Frasier can get)

Pavlov vs. Eddie? I've found a way to get around that one.

Pavlov was Frasier's first puppy (if this isn't true, let's pretend it is). A lot of people only develop hatred for dogs once they get their first puppy and realize they aren't all that great. Finding its mess on your best Persian rug is enough to make you hate the poor little thing. Also, add in that fact that Frasier will always associate Pavlov with another horrible memory of his relationship with Diane. The new Frasier, therefore, is perfectly justified in disliking Eddie.

There. I've convinced myself. Am I only fooling myself? Perhaps.

One more piece to add to the puzzle: Martin once said he hated dogs before he got Eddie. So Eddie must be one of those "either you hate him or love him" dogs.

I prefer the Frasier on Cheers to the Frasier on Frasier

I don't think he was funny at all on Frasier, yet he could keep me in stitches on Cheers

The old Frasier was often a victim of peer pressure to say the least, not something I've witnessed on the new show. Also in Seattle he seems more pompous and haughty than he did in Boston, just some observations

That also explains why the character changed some after he moved to Seattle. People try to adapt to their surroundings.

I was never a fan of Cheers. I tried to watch it many times but it just never clicked with me. Maybe it's because Frasier takes place in my favorite city (Seattle of course!), but I love him on this show. I honestly can't say how he was on Cheers because it's been forever since I've watched it. I should probably DVR some episodes and watch. But I think he's more laid-back and has a better sense of humor being around his family-and away from Lillith! I love how he interacts with Niles and his dad. I could watch them all day!
