I've seen a few times before, Dominquie (I believe that was his name) a young black child apparently accidently killed while rough housing with some friends - His mother Ora was at first thought guilty of killing her son but was eventually exonorated.
This one seems pretty open and shut - find out what kids Dominiquie was with that day and were rough housing and question them and if necessary haul them in. What is the hold up? Later. |

I remember that case. The boys name was Dimitryk (sp?). I agree that they should have questioned those other kids by now. It seems funny that they didn't follow up on those other leads.

Was that the one where he was found in the bathtub? And wasn't his body thought to be in the trunk of a car at one point?

The reason why the police thought he was killed in a bathtub because the boy was so clean.

The reason why the police thought he was killed in a bathtub because the boy was so clean.
Which in my mind sorta shows that the young boys had to have an adult's help in "preparing" the body and then locking it in the trunk of Ora's car as boys that age are not astute enough to know how to get rid of evidence and prepare a body in the way Dimitryk's was when he was found. It would also be questionable if they would have the intellect to lock that body in the car. My sense tells me that unless an adult was involved the body would have just been left at the tracks. Here is my take on what happened purely based on speculation: The boys were roughhousing/bullying Dimitryk around near the railroad tracks. Like his mother said someone hit Dimitryk hard enough to kill him or perhaps rammed his head several times against the railroad tracks (which would explain the bruising on the back of his head) and unfortunatley killed him. I don't think they meant to murder him and some time was likely spent trying to revive Dimitryk (perhaps taking him to a parent's house) when they realized he was dead they washed the body thoughroughly (much more than would be needed from just an average bath) so that no fingerprints would be detected and disposed of him in the trunk of the car. I just think this is one that UM has never updated and possibly is already solved - It just seems very open & shut, Later. |

That's a good theory John. It never occurred to me that another adult or perhaps a teenager could have been involved in cleaning up the body but it's very possible it may have happened that way.
