First season "American Idol" finalist Tamyra Gray will bring a seasoned perspective to the upcoming tour of the latest finalists from the Fox competition. The singer has signed on to perform on most dates of the upcoming Pop Tarts Presents American Idols Live! trek.

As previously reported, the tour kicks off July 14 in Salt Lake City and will close with three recently added shows on Sept. 28-30 in Honolulu. Gray will appear as a special guest on all of the dates except those in Salt Lake City; Portland, Ore. (July 16); Columbus, Ohio (July 31); Nashville (Aug. 14); Atlanta (Aug. 15); Green Bay, Wis. (Sept. 18); and St. Louis (Sept. 19).

The tour will feature third season "Idol" winner Fantasia, runner-up Diana DeGarmo, and fellow finalists George Huff, Jasmine Trias, La Toya London, Amy Adams, Camile Velasco, Jennifer Hudson, John Stevens and Jon Peter Lewis.

Gray debut solo album, "The Dreamer" (19 Recordings/UMVD), debuted last month at No. 16 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 23 on The Billboard 200. It has sold more than 90,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As a songwriter, Gray has a No. 1 single under her belt as "I Believe," the debut single from Fantasia bowed last week on top of Billboard's Hot 100. Gray co-wrote the song with Louis Biancaniello and Color Me Badd alum Sam Watters.

"I Believe" also appears as a B-side of DeGarmo's debut double-A-side single, "Dreams"/"Don't Cry Out Loud." That single is expected to debut on this week's Billboard singles charts, which will be posted tomorrow (July 8) on Billboard.com.

I wish they would quit shoving Tamyra down our throats! It's obvious they're having her do this because her album is failing big time. Guarini sold more than her even. Maybe 19E should realize that it takes promotion outside of AI to be a success. Meangya those people are idiots.

It's pretty rude to do to this year's finalists if you ask me. It's their show, not hers. Hopefully she won't torture us with another horrendous rendition of the National Anthem or Raindrops Will Fall.

And I hate how they say she "wrote" the song. No she came up with the words at most (I'm guessing.. and she probably had help with that) and then other people actually made it music.

Well I think Tamyra is awesome and all, but come on now...she already went on an AI tour during season 1. This wasn't her season at all. And I agree that she needs more promotion.....she's about 95 thousand times better than Justin Guarini, and if he sold more albums than her, that's just sad.

I, for one, could care less about her. People already have their own idols, so to try and make us replace the ones we already have, wont help her any. I was never interested in Tamyra, and her going on tour with them wont change my opinion. And yes... no more Raindrops Will Fall!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one that LOVES Tamyra? I think I'm the only one who actually listened to her CD. Brandon forced me to go an AOL Listening Party and I did and I actually found myself loving it.

But if she sings "Raindrops Will Fall", I think I'll kill myself.

She needs to sing "U Only Got 1" and "Faces".... "Star" too. But my absolute favorite (which isn't on the CD), "I Will Always Love You"

It is kind of unfair. But I like her.

despite my bitterness in the post, I do like Tamyra. I have her cd and have listened to it several times. I don't like a lot of the songs.. but there are some really good ones (I forget which ones). And I also love love love her "I Will Always Love You." But even more than that, her "Dance With My Father" is just beautiful.
