Hi. My name is Kelly. I have been reading the posts here since that hoax about Nancy McKeon and I finally decided to post here myself. I need some advice though. Back in Feb., I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. It has been hard to deal with. I am a competetive figure skater since '98 and now they say I have to wait at least 6 months before I can go back. Has anyone ever gone through something similar to this? If you have, do you have any advice for me? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the boards! I'm sorry but I don't have any advice for you.

You'll enjoy the boards probably- after 4 months EVERYBODY changes- they cook and clean like crazy!!!

i have a nephew that was diagnosed with a seizure disorder; it has been pretty tough for him as they try different medications and such, it has prevented him from working and caused his medical bills to pile up.

Hi Kelly, All I can tell you is just do as the doctor says and take it easy for a while. Good luck with your skating when you go back.

Welcome to the boards!

My mom has seizures too. They told her the same thing...6 months. She had to (legally) wait 6 months before she could drive, just in case she had one while driving.

Yep, they tell that to everybody. I have a FOAF (friend of a friend) that has a seizure disorder as well, and whenever he has a seizure, he has to wait 6 months before he can do anything else...It's the standard for everybody w/ seizure disorders.
