I was watching one of my old tapes today and saw the episode with the boyfriend who killed his girlfriend when they went to visit the mother in florida. He hid the body under the mothers bed in a bamboo curtain. It is so disturbing that the mother lived there for five days with the body under the bed. I felt really bad for the mother because she had to go through alot. She was very upset in the interview and regretted not going in the room in the morning when she heard movement. They caught the scumbag in B.C. in 1993 hopefully he is still behind bars being someone's bitch.
Anyone else remember this one? |

Oh yes, I remember that case. I believe the daughter walked in on her boyfriend taking money from her mom's drawer and when she demanded that he put it back, that's when he started beating her. After killing her and putting her body under the bed, the house began to smell really bad over the next couple of days and it wasn't until then that the mother found her.
The mothers statement at the end of the segment got to me. She started crying and said that because of her daughters murder, she has become a very hateful and very cold person and that a big part of her has died. So tragic. I'm very happy that the guy eventually got caught. |

That is definately a case that really gets to me, such a cold-hearted murder. That guy has venum running through his veins, I hope he stays behind bars for the rest of his life. I feel so sorry for the girl's mother, she will be in pain for the rest of her life.

I don't think it was a cold blooded murder at all. I think it was one of those "in the heat of the moment" things. The fact that he just threw the body under the bed where it would obviously be found proves that the whole thing was never thought out. The segment never detailed if Paula and her boyfriend were in debt and that is why he was stealing the cash?
Either way though I am glad the guy is behind bars Later. |

Premeditated or not, it's still cold blooded. Murder is murder.

I found this case very sad as well.
I hope Paula's mom has gotten to a point where she stops beating herself up for not going into that room when she heard those noises. I hope she's in a better place now that things are over, and the guy is in prison. Frankly, he deserved what he got, I so saw the arrogant way he walked to the airplane TRYING to act the part of turning his head away from the camera, but then, once in the plane, did you see the haughty, arrogant, "nothing's going to happen to me" little snitty smirk he gave the camera when he looked out the window? Prison bitch, nothing, I hope this guy is everyone's prom date! Even better, I hope the other inmates are selling him to each other in exchange for cigarettes. |

I'm bumping this because I just watched the segment on Lifetime and there was more about his conviction. He was sentenced to about 17 years for 2nd degree murder... he got out after 6. He served 6 years for murdering someone and fleeing the scene for the family to find her. Sad, isn't it?

Well, it is because he was sentenced under the laws in effect in Florida at the time of the crime. At that time in Florida, it was not unusual for inmates serving non life or non death sentences to only serve, well sometimes as little as 20 percent of their sentences before being released. Now granted, there are two sides to the story and he, Gerbisoni was pled out to 2nd degree murder by prosecutors. For him it was a sweetheart deal. Now granted, it could be that Paula's mother okayed the deal knowing he would only do a few years in prison, but looking at her, I think she would rather have done that, than gone through the pain of going through a trial, even though Gerbisoni might have got life or at least more time than 17 years if he had taken it to trial.

It's just sick though....6 years for murder! If he's done it once, he's capable of doing it again. I would be furious if a loved one was killed by this guy after being released after not even serving half of his sentence. I can understand letting people out early for non-violent crimes, but not this.

But to beat someone to death is cold blooded murder and the actions of a violent and evil person . No, maybe he didn't plan it and hiding her under the bed could mean he was just plain stupid, or only wanted to hide it long enough to get away. Either way, he should have nevr seen the light of day again, similar to Greg Webb. Or legal system is a joke. |

The prosecution really bungled this one.
The guy kills his girlfriend and stuffs her under her own mother's bed?? Then goes on the run...and gets out in six years??? WTH??? And I never understood the mother being unable to locate the source of the smell inside a TRAILER. However, in her defense she did seem kind of slow and nobody should had to have find what she did. |
