Default Was Three's a Crowd better than the Ropers?

I was wondering if anyone thought that Three's a Crowd was better than the Ropers? I haven't seen TAC in over 15 years so I don't remember much about the show. I have seen a couple of the Ropers episodes and I liked them.

I would say Yes for the simple fact that TAC Had Jack Tripper. THe Ropers was an OK show but if i had to choose, TAC is slightly better

I'd say it was better than The Ropers, even though I wasn't too much of a fan. Having John Ritter in the cast helped a lot.

Yes jack made 3s a crowd funnier than the ropers although i love jeffry tambor
(The ropers annoying neighbor) and think he is so funny I think tambor was the one that made the ropers so funny, even every guest roll he did in threes company he was always funny. I think robert mandens character (vickys dad) killed off threes a crowd.

I disagree, Vicky's Dad had good Chemistry with Jack. It kind of reminded me of Mr. Roper and Jack. But Vicky is the one who killed off Three's A Crowd

I agree. I think Jack and Mr. Bradford together are funny. I never really cared for Vicky, but I thought her dad was funny.

I have all Ropers episodes and love the show. The character of Jeffrey Brooks is hilarious. Stanley and Helen are good too, just as they were on Three's Company, but Jeffrey steals the show. I also liked Helen's twisted sister.

On Three's a Crowd, I agree Jack and Mr. Bradford had good chemistry...the time they got drunk, waiting for a bus in the park comes to mind. I loved it when Mrs. Bradford came on, the constant bickering with her ex-husband was hilarious. However, EZ taylor's spaced out surfer type of humour didn't grab me at all. Vicky was dull, nice looking, but just not quite funny. She was the little miss perfect daddy's girl type. Maybe that's the reason it didn't last. Jack's love interest should have been able to play off him and spice up situations like his ex-roommates did.

That being said, I prefer The Ropers.

I think the Ropers was a funnier show overall over Three's a Crowd. There was just something lacking from TAC.

Agreed, I just can't laugh at TAC, Ropers may be really silly, but it is really funny

I think the week link in TAC was Mary Cadorette. She was pretty but she wasn't a very good actress and she didn't have much chemistry with John Ritter. I think if Vicky would have been recast and Richard Kline would have been a regular, the show would have been better.

Also, EZ was a bad choice to be his assistant chef.

After finally getting the chance to see both shows again, I think Three's a Crowd is much better than the Ropers. I'd definitely get TAC if they ever release it on dvd. The Ropers had one of the worst theme songs ever (IMO) and I just didn't think the characters were very funny. I thought Mr. and Mrs. Roper were hilarious on TC but for some reason, I didn't think they were very funny on their own show. And I always liked Jeffrey Tambor's appearances on TC but on the Ropers, he was boring. Anne was beautiful but she wasn't funny. The only episode of the Ropers I really liked was "The Surprise Party" and that's mainly because Jack, Janet and Chrissy made a guest appearance. The rest were just ok.

As for TAC, I think it's a great show. Every episode from the marathon cracked me up. And Jack Tripper was hilarious just like he was on TC. The only character I didn't care for was E.Z. I liked Vicki and Mr. Bradford and Mr. Bradfords ex-wife, but it was really John Ritter who made this show work.
