Default TOP STORIES: Officers Confiscate 160 Boxes of Illegal Fireworks

Here's the article I found this from NY1 website www.ny1.com

Quote:
Officers Confiscate 160 Boxes of Illegal Fireworks

Police and firefighters have confiscated thousands of dollars of illegal fireworks, including some from a Brooklyn daycare center, just days before July 4th.

Officers found 125 cases of fireworks Thursday in a Flatbush home known as the "Gems of Tomorrow Daycare" on East 46th Street.

Another 35 cases were found on Menahan Street in Bushwick.

The fireworks have conbined street value of about $18,000

"Can you imagine if these fireworks that were placed in a daycare center where children were staying, if they got into the hands of these children and how many more injuries we'd have this year?" said Chief Fire Marshal Louis Garcia.

Police arrested Stacey Holmes, 41, in the Flatbush daycare bust. He is charged with child endangerment and unlawful dealing of fireworks.

Perhaps she bought it at a low price and though she could re-sale them at a high price and make a profit? Who knows, but I think she deserves to sit in jail for what she did. If in fact the children had gotten ahold of the fireworks like the article mentioned there could have been not only injuries, but possibly fatalities. It was stupidity on her part to bring them to the daycare to begin with.
This is what the picture looks like. There were lots of illegal fireworks sets off and cause minor injuries. I don't used them, instead, I like real fireworks.

ha. I dare them to come check out my basement. Making them illegal in Zoo York only makes me want them even more. Last year my friend set himself on fire

Most fireworks in the town I live in, in KY, are purchased in TN, a state with far less restrictive fireworks laws (Last time I checked) than KY.

Of course, I never that close to lit fireworks (Forget about having me light one), as I tend to be a little accident-prone

Yeah I'm in Springfield, which is 10 minutes to the border of CT, so we just go there... but as for the lighting part, I still leave that to my father. I like fire a little too much

I remember back when I was a youngster, I looked at the window and I saw someone sets off illegal fireworks outside of the housing projects in Red Hook, Brooklyn. I know that there were hundreds and thousands of illegal fireworks sold in every state including NY and the rest including cities I originally came from was Brooklyn. As a matter of fact, I don't buy fireworks. No way!
