She was not!!

I actually like Carol, and in the later seasons when Tracey Gold was sick with her anorexia, I def. thought the show suffered without her.

I actually prefer Ben over Mike and Carol, but Carol is my second fav.

Dwight! Dwight has got to be one of the worst characters I've ever seen on any show.

Yup, I have to agree there. In the later seasons Carol could have found herself a really nice guy because she wasn't as nerdy. I guess they realized that in the reunion though.

BTW - Carol is my favorite of them all.

Cool

The character I find unnecesary is Eddie. Mike already had a best friend in Boner. Also Eddie seemed to be pretty much a carbon copy of Mike. What show needs two of the same character? As far as Carol is concerned she may be the most necessary member of the cast. Having one character whose personality is noticibly different from the other characters is what makes a show interesting. It's that difference that is the source of much of the show's comedy as well as the source of many of the storylines on the show. If all the characters were the same it would be a very boring show. Would you really have enjoyed Growing Pains without the relationship, rivalry, and conflict between Mike and Carol?

I agree Carol was one of the most important characters on the show. Mike's arrogance would have been a lot more annoying than it was without Carol around to chip away at him about his flaws.

I'm going neutral and just leaving all the main characters intact. They all blended well with, at least, one other character. For instance, Luke was the same age as Ben, so I think he went well competing for the same girls and same-age sibling qualities. Dwight blended in with Carol and Mike. Carol needed someone silly in her life (i.e. his quirky qualities are similar to that of Kimmy Gibler from Full House), and Mike needed to throw out some Carol-free one-liners towards him. Chrissy blended in well with Jason and Maggie because she was the family baby and often looked up and mimicked either them or her siblings. So, that's why I think they complimented well!
