Default The Vita Brite episode is another strange episode

Why couldn't they just did it the simple way? Do the commercial, and collect the five thousand dollars. Was it really necessary to go thru Florida's drama about telling lies to tasting it, to Michael getting drunk (TVA, is that another "Michael episode? He was floating like it, LOL). It was a simple do it and you're rich. Florida and her honesty.

Florida just enjoyed being poor. She could have agreed to do the commercial way before they tested the product out. Anyway, why test the product out? Just do the commercial and get the $5000. Florida was so dumb.

I remember when that episode was first on the air. I was so pissed when Florida said she didn't want to lie. $5000?! I would do the commercial and then pray afterwards.

laney I was laughing hysterically when I saw you post. . However for me, I am person of strong integrity and probably would have backed down if my spirit or conscience did not agree. I can't afford to allow greed to mess with my principles but I loved your posting. "I'll pray later" Ha Ha Ha! It is too funny!

There is one ep of the Brady Bunch in which The boys find a wallet and turn it back over to it's rightful owner. I applaud them for that, but I did not agree with Mike when he made the boys reject the big reward that was offered by the gentleman. Mike had the man lower the reward amount. I thought that was truly messed up and wanted to go through the TV and shake Mike.

Maybe she was worried about losing her welfare and the 5000 dollars would ruin money every month...Florida might have been looking at the big picture. HONK HONK!!!

That's why James was so damn angry... Why he REALLY didn't develop high blood pressure, I will never know.

It was $29,000 that Florida made James return. That is $119,538 in todays dollars, I looked it up. Then you add the 5,000 for Vita brite , thats
$34,000 in 1974 or $150,000 today. If Vita Brite had sold she could've done a few more commercials.

The reason she wanted to turn down Vita Brite was because it had alcohol in it. Just about everything has alcohol in it. Mouthwash, cleaning products, medicine thats why it kills bacteria.

I didn't understand FLorida at all. They are so poor that James has gotta shoot pool to raise the rent and she has the nerve to turn down free money.

They could've caught up on bills and used that money for the next time they were short on rent.

JJ could've got his art supplies & carrying case.
James & Florida could've got new clothes.
They could've got a T.V. that worked and a refrigerator just like the one sweet daddy had.
A quality stereo that didn't blow fuses.
James would've opened up a fix it shop.
James wouldn't die.

James found $29 thousand dollars. He kept $2000 of that robbery money. He kept some of it before turning it in. That was the amt of money that Florida demanded he return, not the $29K, that was already turned in, that's how he became a hero.

But you know James gave back the 29,000 because he knew Florida was gonna nag him to death.
