"what's that, gas leaks? i have 'em all the time"
just what i feel about this episode. though my opinion is biased. two things in this world i have never liked is the song "devil with a blue dress on" and whoopi goldberg. and this one has them both. saving grace for me is judd nelson playing a cop trying to cash in on camille's success after saving a senator from an assassination attempt. dave and maddie give her a job at blue moon for publicity. might be a good episode unless you are biased here like i am. rating is questionable due to my impaired judgement rating: 4 |

This episode has always been problematic for me. Not too sure I like that truncated, crashing the fourth wall ending. Sure the final scene is really nice with D&M/B&C saying goodbye to each other for the summer and then they each get into their real cars and drive away, but it is all that nonsense before with the prop guns and studio lot chase that just seems to try too hard to me.
Oh, well usually I really like all the postmodern fourth wall breaking stuff...but this one I think went too far too long. But the scenes with D&M are good ones. And Miss DiPesto and the gas leak is funny: Miss D: "Miss Gas!! There's a hayes in the building!" M "Hayes in the building?" Miss D "Yes, Miss Gas! A hayes leak! They think the building mught blow up! Don't panic!!!" |

the chase running out of the studio did stretch the imagination a bit. like a fight sene in a comic book jumping out of the pages and into my living room for a few minutes. a tad much. but it was enjoyable.
though the goodbye scene at the end was just a moment to have odd expectations. i mean, these two are already, just ready to jump at the bit for each other, yet they fight it. don't want to admit that there is an attraction other than snide remarks and arguing. you could tell they were waiting for one to say what the other wanted to hear. but nobody will take the first step. right now, i am anxiouisly awaiting for the appearance of sam crawford. their emotions definitely did take first steps at that point. |

I didn't like this episode much, either.
Other than the ones that focused on Agnes and Bert, this was probably my least favorite of the series. But it's still better than most of the stuff on TV today, so I'll take it.

Ya know, in thinking more on this episode...the problem was this episode was that is was centered around a guest star, a third party which was not the standard operating procedure for Moonlighting. When watching this you keep waiting for scenes between Maddie and David and there aren't that many. That is one of the reasons that sweet little ending between just the two of them is so special and so memorable. It is probably the best part of this whole episode.

I didn't think about it that way, but that makes sense, Cindy. Of course, I don't remember details, but I do remember that there wasn't as much banter as we were used to.

IMO, way too much Whoopi and Judd. There are only a couple of funny parts like Whoopi dressed like Maddie and Maddie showing David the org chart. The ending was cute. Was that David/Maddie or Bruce/Cybill? But it was a complete rip off when they did almost the same thing at the end of Lunar Eclipse.

Well we can set one thing straight!
They are always Bruce and Cybill, so the question is: was this for real or show? |

Wow, this is odd. I thought I was the only one that didn't like this episode. It had some funny lines, but I thought it was just one, big farce. I like Whoopi, but maybe the reason I didn't like the episode was because it was centered around her and NOT David and Maddie and their relationship. The final scene was memorable but the Judd Nelson parts were forgetable. The truth is that I haven't watched this episode in years. |

I agree that there was definitely too much Whoopi. I'm not a fan of hers to begin with, but when she has a bigger part than my two favorite characters...not a good thing.

since the only thing i know about moonlighting is the episodes i've seen so far- i'll take a guess. sometimes tv characters crossover onto other shows. and since david and maddie were supporting characters in this episode, maybe that's what it was about.
also 'saw' bruce willis and cybill shepherd in this episode. truth be told i really don't know a anything about either of them except for some occasional late night talk show appearances when i can't sleep. david and maddie seemed to be missing a lot from this episode. i'm guessing that this episode was the end of a season since a prop guy came in and took the props saying they were on a tight schedule. the episode moved right along and i can see how people can really enjoy this episode. and i did too. as long as i didn't view it as having anything to do with maddie and david- but just some quirky fun tv. |
