These are the ones I have some liking for. There are 2 songs listed for 1966 though.

I didn't know the Woody Woodpecker theme was a #1 single. Interesting.

Does anyone know if any songs reflective of Independence Day were hits at this time of the year? Songs like Yankee Doodle Dandy or God Bless America?

'cept chronological, apparently, though I'm confused as to how there were two number one singles in the same week in 1958 and 1966.

Two separate charts? Billboard and Cash Box?

This song is serious competition with "My Sharona" by the Knack and "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes as the worst number-one song of 1979, a year that saw Three Mile Island, the rise of Khomeini and Margaret Thatcher, and Donna Summer duetting with Streisand!

I looked up in Saturday's Freeman this morning that on last week's Top 5, the #1 song on the 4th of July of this year is "I Believe" by Fantasia.
