Default Does anybody knows...??

where can I find a Moonlighting page with transcripts of the espisodes??? Well, I don't know if there is any... It's just that I saw this page of Remington Steele, and they had all the transcripts of the episodes... and that's why I thought well, that maybe there is one for Moonlighting...

And if there's not... hummm... what about trying to do it?? It's just an idea...

I would love to have the transcripts.
I think that you can buy some of them on e-bay.

Yeah, I think I found the transcript to "The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice" on eBay. I'll go check.

Now this is a really deep topic....and as a web designer and owner of a fan site this topic requires delicate handling. It is a fairly common occurrance that high profile or popular fansites get served with cease and desist letters from various production companies....(Twentieth Century Fox is one that does this religiously) whenever scripts, script pages and extended scenes are posted. The notice comes in the form of email with this subject line "UNAUTHORIZED USE OF TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX PROPERTIES" and once they nail someone for script copies, they also press other issues of copyright and fair use on the site. Back a few years ago, the X-Files fan community really caught heck about this for a while...more recently Buffy, Angel and other sites have come under fire. You can read one of these standard notices at this site: http://www.mustreadtv.com/buffyscripts/foxletter.html

Now how a fan site is able to use pictures and things...falls under the definition of fair use and the concept that the picture or copyrighted material is being used for educational or entertainment and not for profit uses..... BUT posting entire transcripts or pieces of scripts is not considered fair use in many cases because the owner of those (in this case Fox or whoever is protesting) doesn't see it as fair use.

What a fansite can do is post a discussion about episodes and scenes and quote from those in the context of a discussion or a commentary.... but you walk a fine line here... you can say here are some of my favorite lines or scenes or here is something I find very funny....but unless you like living dangerously, best not to post pages, acts, scripts for the sake of posting scripts.

What is the context of quoting from a script? These are the issues that a rights holder would look at when deciding to post a cease and desist. Generally random lines of dialogue or excerpts from a scene will skate by. More extensive things like pages, entire acts, and so on will not.

I hope this hasn't been a downer answer for you guys. As fan site owners, I think it is important to try to respect the rights of the owners of the creative property as much as possible.

And now that I have said that, I will tell you that coming up we will be posting at DavidandMaddie.com something related to a scene discussion that will give you a taste of the scripts. I am right now trying to figure out how to best present it and still maintain the obligation of fair use.

Thank you for the extended answer, Cindy, I understand completely.

In my case it would be kinda educational, because sometimes I can't understand some things. David speaks soo fast and with slang, you know... and then I have to ask mom (she watches the eps with me and she's an english teacher, so... hehehe) So as you see, it's an educational thing, "learning english" hahaha

Kisses to you all, guys!

Carina, You can often find scripts on ebay. I've also seen websites where you can download complete scripts of movies. I don't know how they can do that.
