Smile introduction

Hi! I'm new to this board. I've been looking at the posts for awhile, to see if I wanted to join. I'm always a bit reluctant to join message boards, since, in my experience, people tend to be a little nasty at times. But the posters here seem really nice, so here I am. ^_^

Anyway, a little about myself. I am a stay-at-home mom, married to a wonderful man. I'm also a singer/songwriter working on my second independantly released CD.

But I'll stop boring you with the details about me. I actually didn't watch the Nanny during it's original run. My sister liked it, and since she also liked dreck liked Saved By 5the Bell, I figured it must be just as bad. But, over the past year, I started watching the reruns on Lifetime. I must admit, I'm hooked. I love all the characters (though it took me awhile to warm up to Sylvia). I especially love the Fran/Maxwell Niles/CC chemistry.

Anyway, I'm getting long winded with this post, and that's no way to make a first impression. So I'll ttyl.

to the board! Always nice to see new faces around here. I didn't watch TN in it's original run, either. I guess I was too young to appreciate it hehe. Now, I too, am hooked.

As for Sylvia, I always loved her! I come from an Italian family, so the food obsession totally makes sense to me LOL!

Anyway, enjoy your stay around here, and please feel free to join in conversation!

Hi and ... glad to have you! It's been a quiet place here lately but I enjoy this board! (I haven't been around for awhile but now I'm back! ) I did watch the Nanny at it's original run but saw only a couple of episodes. Like Kristen I think I was too young to appreciate the humor and well written dialogs and inside jokes. It's kind of fun now for me! I guess you are at the right place here: we are all hooked! Glad to hear that you like the chemistry between the four main characters! Me too! I especially enjoy the N/CC banters (as Kristen already knows! hahah!)

Hope you will have a great time here! BTW Do you remember a special episode or season that got you hooked? (What about the others?) I started taping 6th season while I watched it the second time. I guess the weird change in N/CC relation got me hooked! lol Later I appreciate 3rd and 4th season much more.

The episode that drew me in? Hmm...that would have to be the one where Gracie runs away to be with Fran because CC said she got paid to love them. There were some very sweet moments there, and I like sap sometimes. lol

btw my 15 month old son always stops what he's doing and takes notice when the theme song is playing. hehe

So it sounds like we're all roughly the same age. I'll be 28 July 25th. Seems so old now. hehe

Koyasu, the episode you're talking about, with Gracie running away, is called "Here Comes the Brood," and it's one of my favorites, too. The episode that really drew me in (also from Season 1!) is "Imaginary Friend." That whole "reviving Imogene" scene, as I like to call it, is just classic.

Over time, I started to realize that Max and Fran were perfect for each other, and I began to wonder when they'd see it! hehe. I think that's mainly what kept me interested, (Well, aside from Niles, who always makes me laugh!) was the whole "will they/won't they?" of Max and Fran. Plus, I started reading up on the RUNHP, and I kept hearing about the episode "An Affair to Dismember," which was always a big deal with the Max/Fran fans. And of course, it took forever for Lifetime to play it! It took me a really long time to see "The Wedding," too. It's always the episodes you want to see that take the longest to come around, LOL.

Sorry for being so long-winded on this question hehe!

Yeah. I loved that episode, too. And I like Niles' line "Lord and Taylor giveth and Lord and Taylor taken away." lol I guess that should have gone in the other thread. Oh well.

I have to agree. The "will they or won't they" tension was also a big draw for me. And, IMHO, this is the only show in my recollection that didn't lose any of it's spark after they finally got together. In fact, despite what many people might say, I don't think there was ever a bad season. Sure, some episodes weren't so great. But, as a whole, a pretty darn good show. And I must agree with you. I just love Niles! He and CC have the classic playground romance. You know. "I hate you, but I really love you."

lol I agree! What I really enjoy is that the two "couples" have such a different relation. It would be weird if both relations would depend on romance like the F/M relation does. (Don't get me wrong, Fran and Max are really great together and I love to see them as a romantic couple!) Nevertheless I like to see a different relationhip like N/CC have, too. It spices up everything! And I also agree about Niles! One simply has to love his quick mouth! )

Agreed. Gotta love that witty butler! But you know what else I think appeals to me? The cross-cultural romance. I mean, Fran and Max come from VERY different backgrounds and ways of doing things. But they learn to love eachother despite these differences, and even embrace some of them. That, in a way, reflects my own marriage. Even though we are different backgrounds than M&F. I am caucasian (of British and French descent) and my husband is Chinese. It's actually quite a fun, rewarding adventure to learn about eachother. Especially when it comes to the in-laws. lol Does that make sense at all?
