Post Some mean comments about the Reunion

Well..I thought they were mean... (I found this at http://www.snarkcake.com)
______

I watched all I could of the Facts of Life reunion movie last night, which is to say about 20 minutes. I might have stayed with it, but I found the whole Natalie has two lovers plot unbelievable and a bit offensive. Let's face Facts: Natalie is just not attractive enough to have two very good looking guys willing to debase themselves competing for her in a beauty contest. Blair's not even good looking enough, but she might be rich enough. You can insult me, but please don't insult my intelligence. However, if they want to build a series around Kim Fields and her daughter, go to it. She was great on Living Single and she was great in the parts I saw.

Although I agree that Nat having 2 men fighting over her is a bit unbelievable I have to disagree with the crack about Blair.

Lisa is by far the oldest non adult on the FoL during it's 9 year run. (She's now 38 years of age, B. 1963.) Of all of the girls she probably aged better then any of them combined. Not to say the others didn't age well, (which they all have including Nancy but none can claim they look almost exactly the same as they did when the series left the air in 1988!) I think they could have still easily gone with a plot with Blair having 2 lovers because it is well established that Blair was the flirt of the show. Tootie's daughter would have also been a cool storyline but few times when the series is able to have an actual 'end' is there ever a decent reunion story per se. (Meaning that there is a situation in which the cast reunites ala Simon & Simon.) Personally I would have waited and done a Christmas special ala the second last Brady Bunch reunion. This would have made fans a bit more nostalgic and provided a more plausable plot in my opinion.

Still, until I actually see the movie for myself I won't go too far to critisize it.

I hope they do a series on Tootie!! She was WONDERFUL!! Although I didn't much care for the girl who played her daughter. I can't believe this guy saying Blair isn't pretty! Why do people have to be so mean!

I liked Tisha, Tootie's Daughter. I thought that she was really adorable and the actress who played Jaimee convinced me.

I didn't think that Blair was ugly either. Believe it or not a man can be attracted to a woman for her personality. Natalie does have an attractive personality. If you spend time getting to know a person you go beyond the looks factor. It's like with people that are black or white. When you get to know the individual, you forget about color. Natalie always seemed like a fun character, poeisitve and fun.

Wasn't that the original show's premise to go against the grain. Why not Nat? Natalie, for the most part, got the more dramatic and more diverse storylines - i.e. father's death, loss of virginity. She's always been the main comic relief of the show, so why not give her the comic situation in the movie. She's was always the one less suspect, but always in the middle. Remember the reputation episode, you're reacting the same way.

Agreed. Anyhow I also agree with everyone else here- there's nothing ugly or unattractive about Nat.

So not to peeve everyone, I don't think Blair is at all ugly & Nat is cute, but I wished the movie would have been more about the characters & the school instead of their love lives. I agree w/ him in some parts, but just my opinion.

i don't think the girls are any less attractive than they were on the show, i don't think there ugly either, but hello, they're gonna age! they just look older, this isn't Jenny Jones, they weren't gonna bust out from behind a stage with breast implants half naked like 'look at me now', they looked pretty much the way i pictured, except for tooties hair, that was a little different
