Why wouldn't you buy them? Money?

Right now I won't buy The Simpsons or Frasier - but that's because I've already spent a lot on Cheers.
...Well actually...come to think of it, I don't know about buying The Simpsons because it's played so much on TV. I know I'll be seeing episodes for a long time. But as for Cheers...I'm not sure how much longer they'll be showing reruns and the times on N@N are really inconvenient.

Money's a factor. Plus I already have all of the episodes of those shows on tape.

Ah ok. That makes sense. I wish I had taped stuff.

I think the ONLY factor that should stop someone from buying a TV show they like on DVD is money.

Taping them off of TV is NOT the same.
Unless you have very high quality tapes and have the original network airings.... then you have a 1-up on DVD owners.

If I like a show.... I'll buy it on DVD.
I can't think of one show I like that I wouldn't buy on DVD.

(I used to say The King of Queens.... but after it came to syndication, I decided I will eventually buy it on DVD)

I wouldn't buy anything I could see over and over again on Nick@Nite or TVLand, etc.

Only shows that they don't show on TV a lot, then I would buy the DVDs for.

Same here. I LOVE being able to own all my favorite shows on dvd and watch them whenever I want. That's basically where all my money goes. The only reason I wouldn't buy something is if I feel I'm overdosing and need to go to Dvd Buyers Anonymous. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why I wouldn't buy a show I like. Hell, my favorite purchase is of a show I previously hadn't even seen. (Freaks & Geeks)

Season 1 of the Simpsons. It stunk, so I won't buy it unless it's only like a buck.

Everybody Loves Raymond. I will only buy classic shows from the 50s to the 80s. Those shows are edited when broadcast on TV, shows from the 90s to today are aired complete, except with some minor modifcations (like a number of episodes of The Simpsons in syndication).

Virtually all reruns that air in broadcast syndication are edited to add in more commercials. Granted, they are not edited as severely as shows from earlier days, simply because shows from that earlier era were longer, since network TV had fewer commercials back then. But, "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Seinfeld", and other shows from the 90s are edited for syndication.

Cosby Show, Full House, Friends

All are all over syndicated stations.
