Has anyone had any weird allergic reactions to things you wouldn't think you would? Could be food or anything else.
I ended up in the doctors office yesterday because of a reaction I had to something from Tuesday. I'm fine now but MAN what a rough couple of days. I had a reaction one time to watermelon too but only once, never before and never again. I'm allergic to penicillen normally but nothing else. |

Last year I had some kind of reaction to some of those "Veggie" type chicken nuggets. I broke out in hives, I was short of breath, it was ugly.
Serves me right for trying to eat anything in nugget form.

When I was on a family vacation over ten years ago I noticed that my chin had turned purple. My family and I thought it was an allergic reaction and came to the conclusion that it was BBQ sauce; I had a burger with BBQ sauce shortly before. That wasn't it. I don't know how my chin turned purple. I'm guessing it was a big bruise or the capillaries in it burst for some reason. I have never been allergic to anything. I do have a sister that cannot eat peanut butter, peanuts, or things with peanuts in any way, shape, or form. It's like cyanide to her. She had some as a baby but had to go to the hospital. She's also allergic to soy and tofu.

I have a severe allergy to "tree nuts" but that isn't too weird. But I am allergic to almost every fruit I've eaten, which I'd say is pretty weird. I've never met anyone allergic to as many fruit types as me. My throat almost closes when I eat any of them, so I steer clear.

I can't wear metal earrings, whether it be cheap or like... 14 karat gold. I have to wear plastic ones or they get so swollen and infected that the earring goes inside of my ear and I have to dig around to get it out, then it's swollen and stuff for a week.

Two weeks ago,I went to the dermatologist and found
out that a rash that I had on my face was due to being allergic to fluoride in toothpaste. But I think it's more of a food related allerdgy because everytime I eat potato chips my face burns and the rash turns red. |

As I get older, I find I have reactions to a lot of things. My chemistry has changed.
