Default How Come

How come some movies on basic cable allow swearing? I just think it's unnessesary. I mean i am surprised by that i find it odd. Because some of the channels use the "s" word. Like on TBS when the character says bull.... they leave it in. I just find it odd. It happens like on TBS and USA and other cable networks as well i think.

The other night I was watching Nip/Tuck on FX, and heard the words "s**t", and "*sshole," over and over. I've gotten used to hearing the Lord's name taken in vain on cable channels like AMC for a while now, but that took some getting used to. We've come a long way in terms of what's censored and what isn't these days.

I was watching Sex and the City on TBS before and they had a guy's BARE butt on the screen. And this was only like 9 or 9:30 at night! Well, that's not that bad IMO. It's a lot worse when it's on HBO!

It was funny because I've seen that movie a bunch of times, and I knew what word it was supposed to be.
AMC does that with G.D. all the time, and I've never understood it. Or they'll censor one word, yet another one will slip through.

thats because the monkeys they get to overdub the profanity only understand a few words... and they really only care about the bananas!

Nip/Tuck also has a TV-MA rating.

I understand that but i guess some of those words aren't considered swears anymore because if they were wouldn't they bleep them out? Because if children were watching i don't think they would want them repeating those words. I dunno. I guess they don't censor that much anymore i guess it depends on the channel and the time.

Most kids should be asleep by then, that's 10pm and 1030pm Eastern time.

Yes. They are the only national network to air it. It's already been edited enough.

My mom wouldn't let me watch Sex and the City on HBO, but I watch it all the time on TBS.

Not me. This is what I do all summer: Wake up at 2:00 PM, get on the computer, go up to my room and blast music, watch TV, go on the computer again, watch TV until they start airing infomercials and go to bed.

My life is pathetic.
