To me, the show just went to a new level after season 2. Seasons 1 and 2 are seasons i wish i didn;t buy on DVD. I'm looking for to seasons 3-8. That was the best era of Three's Company. Seasons 2 had a lot of dry episodes.

I agree with you that the show went to a new level after season 2, but I still thought season 2 was pretty good. There must have been some episodes from season 2 that you liked. |

IMO, season 2 is one of the best seasons of Three's Company, and it has quite a few memorable episodes. The show was at its best from seasons 2 - 6. JMO.

I don't like season 2 because Larry really wasn't apart of the cast. by season 3 he was. |

I like season 2, even though in some eps, it's obvious that the cast is still trying to find their way. Of course, season 2 is a lot better than season 1.

As with any show, it improves with age. Me personally, I love the seasons where Chrissy was at her zaniest. To me, early Chrissy was smarter but also whinier. I love the show regardless, but I prefer the show when the Ropers were about to leave and Don Knotts came in. And then there are certain Cindy eps that I like (Austin in particular!
) and who wouldn't love Terri?Ed |

I did not like what they did with the Janet character in seasons 1 through 3. She came off too heavy handed, bossy and controlling. Plus her look was so plain. Joyce DeWitt is a beautiful woman and I am glad she got rid of that god awful frizzy hair for that short sassy look. Season 4 the show hit its stride and Janet was a lot more looser. The only thing I did not like about season 4 was Chrissy became outright dumb.
If I was to purchase the series on DVD it would be during the Priscilla Barnes years. I loved Ralph Furley. He was a wild man. |

There are things I love about each season, so it's hard to choose. And as for the dumbing down of Chrissy, yeah, it's a bit over the top, but I think it provided a lot of the fun in the show. Some of her wackiness appeared in eps that are my favorites. Suzanne really knew how to play her dumb but still attractive and likeable, which is not easy to do. That's why the ep when she bangs her head is so emotional yet zany.
And I love Ralph Furley and Terri Alden. There are things I'd miss from the other seasons if I chose one or two as my faves, but yeah, the show did improve with age. Ed |
