I used to think that Lowell was the most unrealistic character on Wings. I didn't think any person could possibly be as stupid and dense as him. Then, I got a job in retail!

I work in a downtown office building and recently the building owner hired a new guy as a maintenance man. This guy comes into our office to empty our wastebaskets and if I'm working late we chat a little while he's working. This guy's a very nice guy, but he DOES remind me of Lowell! He even looks a little like him, and he always wears a baseball cap backwards. He talks kind of slowly like Lowell, and he usually has a comment about something that doesn't really concern him (how some of the other tenants run their business, etc.). I enjoy talking with him...but sometimes I DO feel like I'm talking with Lowell...so there are REAL "Lowells" out there! |

He is realistic because he feels like an idiot sometimes.
I posted a thread like this on the Friends board about Phoebe.... now she's unrealistic, but she has no depth. She's just zanny and stupid, and not "vulnerable" at all. Whereas Lowell feels stupid sometimes, and you feel stupid for him. Or not.... but he makes me laugh (unlike Phoebe).... so its all good. |

I think he is. Lowell reminds me of the character Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World.
Personally I think Lowell is actually very smart, he may not be "booksmart" but he's smart where and when it counts ![]() Same with Eric

"Don't you people ever watch PBS?".... and of course Lowell's HILARIOUS outburst at Joe: "TRY CRACKIN' A BOOK SOMETIME, PRETTY BOY!"

Lowell knows alot of little things, it's almost like he knows a little bit about everything. |
