Hey. I'm trying to find a copy of Louie the Garbageman's song that, I guess, is called "Put out your can" or "Here comes the Garbagman" or something. Anyone have any idea where I could find it?

The line he most often sang on the show was "Stick out your can, cause here comes the garbage man". Cause he did do variations of the line to fit the occasion. Like in the episode where he retires he sings "Don't stick out your can, cause I ain't your garbage man.... NO MOOOORE!"
I am not aware of any time where Scatman might have recorded a song by the same name.... |

Hi. I am a serious collector/ historian on Scatman's recordings. Scatman sang those lines in the show, and wrote a song under that name, but it was never recorded and / or released to my knowledge. Too bad it wasn't. Scat sang at least one song in the last season..."The Gal Looks Good", which he had recorded in 1956.

There is a recording Scatman made on auction over at eBay that goes off today. It doesn't have any of the CATM stuff on it, but if you are into Scatman's singing, you might be interested.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT In the TV guide article on Scatman (you have to scroll about half way down the page for this article), he mentions even teaching scat singing at the college level! He was quite the entertainer! |
