I know star doesn't have HBO, but who watches and/or likes Deadwood?
I don't wan't to get into debates about the foul language, 'cause I'll admit it does make The Sopranos sound like Sesame Street. But the 1st season just ended with episode #12, which I thought was the shiznit! I was glad to see they ended the season with a quality ep, it was (as most were) high grade movie quality with awesome writing & acting. You watch it Bri? Who watches Deadwood? It rocks! I think the HBO series (the 3 biggies or so) are excellent TV, as TV goes. Keith Carridine as Wild Bill, & Seth Bullock, a real man....

I have to admit I have not seen an episode. At first glance, it just didn't look that good to me. Maybe because it is a western. I'm not sure. Then again, it took me about 2 seasons to warm up to the Sopranos.

It's surely not for everyone, and if you don't like the hour long drama type stuff, you pob wouldn't like Deadwood.
It's that type of character driven show where you need to know them in order to pick up on the subtleties. I'n not gona say it's a soap, but a "drama" for sure. Beside the quality acting/writing, what I thought was cool is the historical accuracy of the people & places (although dramatic liberties taken for sure). Every main character & place is/was real down to the saloon owners & brothels, using the actual names. Even when Wild Bill Hickok was killed they had all the players and the location down to the seating arrangements historically accurate. The show creator did his research. Maybe it's not a popular as I thought. Thanx for the replies folks
