why wont tv land put on episode 53 of the munsters? what was so wrong with that episode? i must get this episode someway somehow.

I have heard from previous posts that this episode was too violent.

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard, and although I have not seen the episode, I feel that there is no way that episode #53 exceeds the violence of Gunsmoke or Bonanza.

Don't worry, if season one, to be released in August, sells well, then we will see season two, which included episode 53.

I looked it up and see ep.#53 is "Herman's Peace Offensive," in which Herman and Grandpa teach Eddie to fight back to a bully that has been picking on him. Concurrently, Herman has been the butt of a practical joker at 'the parlor' and consequently he ends the jokes wit his threats to use his superhuman strength against his menace. Near the end Herman, Eddie, and Grandpa are laughing over how H & E took care of the ones picking on them, and Lily answers the phone and it was Eddie's principal saying Eddie "beat up 2 boys today and threatened the entire 5th grade." So Lily tells Hermans she "will not tolerate" violence within her family-- then to emphasize the point she gives Herman a hook that knocks him backward over the sofa

While I havent' heard TV Land's 'official explanation' for not showing this ep, I am sure it's a reasonable assumption that they fear complaints for showing episodes that appear to condone fighting or "might makes right." That, plus the ambiguous 'lesson' of Lily refusing to tolerate violence and violently stressing her point.

I definitely don't agree with this policy, but it is found in many old shows on networks where children make up a large portion of the audience. The Cartoon Network, for example, will only show the old Merrie Melodies or Tom and Jerry cartoons after midnight, because they often have violent scenes or show ridiculous stereotypes. To me, it's just surreal and funny to see a mouse hit a cat over the head with a skillet
