My husband has loved coins since he was a child. It's tied into his passion for History. He's never had time to become a serious collector, but since last Fall, he's sort of obsessed. He orders them off eBay, Littleton Coin Company, U.S. Mint, Home Shopping Channels, etc.
It's a nice hobby. I'm not crazy over what's on the credit card bills lately, but I'm happy he finally has time to devote to his hobby. Anyone else collect coins? |

I collect coins. I got most of them from working as a cashier. If fact when I worked at McDonalds, I found a 1874 Indian head penny in a penny roll. I also have lots of coins from other countries.

I collect coins, too-- as well as stamps. (Which by the way, I am STILL trying to sell from two years before LOL). But anyway, it's a great hobby. Pretty costly yes, but nonetheless great. Lately, I've withdrawn from it though. I don't know whether if it's due to a lack of interest or time constraint, but anyhoo, I'm glad your husband is enjoying it!

I collect pennies with years I like (50s, my birth year, etc.). Seriously, I love pennies. I hate nickels with a passion though.

I've been collecting coins from my birth year for years now, including state quarters. That habit can cost a bundle, as I learned from a friend of mine who has spent an obscene amount..

I collect 1980 Pennies,Nickels,Dimes,and Quarters.
That's the year I was born. I thought I was the only one. I have also been collecting the state quarters. I have a state map I put them in, that was made for collecting the state quarters. |

When I was younger I used to be one heck of a coin collector... for a kid anyways. There used to be this neat store at the mall and my friend and I would go buy coins there. And my grandma gave me some great old ones. I still have them saved in cases, but I stopped collecting long ago.

I collect coins. I collect a lot of American coins, but also have some Canadian coins and some Russian rubles in my coin collection, which I got from a friend who went on a trip to Russia a couple summers ago. Once in 7th grade my english teacher gave everyone in my social studies class coins from St. Lucia. They were neat. They were silver and square-shaped with a number 2 on them. I lost mine in 9th grade, though.
I still have my Russian rubles, though.

I collect them, have been since I was a kid. I have a bunch of proof sets but no longer collect those because it became quite expensive. I still save wheaties and any coin minted before 1964. I have all the state quarters and whenever I come across a bicentenial quarter I put that aside too. I also collect 2 dollar bills and any dollar bills that are really crisp. I have a bunch of Canadian and German stuff too.

My mom collects the state quarters that have been coming out. I keep telling her that in a few years, they are still only going to be worth twenty five cents.

I've started collecting the state quarters, both "P" & "D". I think those mean Philadelphia & Denver. I have most of those up to 2003 and are trying to get the 2004 going.
I also have a Sacajawea(sp?) coin my boyfriend gave me and I have some really old pennies from the 1950's |
