Default Can you watch TV in the evening without a lamp? Just the light of the TV?

I can't watch TV without any lights on because it's easy to fall asleep with just the light of the TV. Unless it's after 12midnight, I can't do it.

My tv set is in the living room and there are no lamps there. So, I have no choice of watching tv in the dark but I don't mind

Depends. Sometimes all the lights have to be off, but then there are times I literally have every single light on in that room and the surrounding rooms.

I watch TV either way. My dad loves watching TV in the dark.

I hardly ever turn the lamps on while watching TV unless I'm looking through a magazine or something while listening to the TV. Besides I have a bunch of skylights so my livingroom never really gets that dark anyway.

If I'm watching downstairs while I'm on the computer, yes I need the lights on.

If I'm in bed I don't need the lights on.

Depends.

If I'm eating and I'm watching a DVD in my room, I turn on my three-way lamp to the lowest setting so that I can see how much food I have on my plate and so I can reach for the remote if I miss something. If I'm just watching TV, I don't need the light on. If I watch TV out here in the living room, I don't need any lights on (and we practically have skylights anyway, we have windows really high up on the wall, so that's not much of an option). If I watch TV out here at night, that depends.

When watching tv, I have the lights on; however, when watching a dvd movie, it's lights out.

I turn the light on so I can find the remote but once I find it I turn off the light and watch in the dark.
