Nielsen Ratings for FOL were so-so, nothing dominate - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Sunday night belonged to CBS and FOX, but ABC stayed close behind thanks to nostalgic thirtysomething wanting to see how the girls of Eastland Academy turned out and the dominate The Practice.
CBS took the night with an 8.5/13, but, thanks to NFL football, FOX nipped at its heels with an 8.4/13. ABC came in a close third with an 8.2/13, while NBC trailed with a 6.6/10. The WB rounded out the networks with its comedies taking a dismal 2.6/4.

Those are pretty good ratings for a show that hasn't been on since 1988 on the three dominate networks and isn't remembered all that well by people who haven't seen it on Nick at Nite. Those are spectatular ratings, I don't think they expected it to be in the Top 5, since ABC is tieing for third place and might get fourth this year

i think the grwoing pains movie got a 10. 7.3 i think i remember reading that. i loved it and the rating isnt that bad but it could of been better they said it was strong ratings.

Personally I think the lacklustre ratings are almost a direct responce to the fact that Nancy McKeon wasn't a part of this. This was known by most everyone who followed the show and reunion news so it isn't that suprising that it wasn't what it may have been. The true FoL die-hards tuned in and that was in itself a pretty significant number since the show hasn't aired even in reruns until very recently in over a decade.

Either way it was better then the show's overall ratings in it's history so I have to say that is a good sign!

Keep in mind, that rating is just for all the shows on Sunday night. I'm curious to see how it rates for the more important weekly ratings. It'll probably be lower than number 9...sadly.

Final ratings were actually 11.5 million viewers. This is very good.
Uh, just to gloat for a minute, I predicted in a post a few days before the reunion aired that it would get "12 million viewers". Um, was I right or was I right??? HEHE!!!
To me, the Growing Pains reunion is not a fair comparison, Growing Pains did not go off the air nearly as long ago as FOL, plus the Leo Dicaprio thing had to bring in some extra viewers who just wanted to see if he would show up.
The reunion did very well, not amazing numbers, but very good. They should be very happy with them.

That or u dont have any taste... lOL j/k yeah those ratings aint that bad Those are better then WWFs ratings... Wwfs have been down but are making a comeback..... They were once as high as in the 7.0's a few years ago..... The monday before last scored a 4.1 but last monday scored a 4.9..... So the fact that it got way more viewers then WWF.....

Final ratings for the movie were 11.5 million viewers, 7.1 rating, 11 share. It ranked #51 out of about 123 shows. The Growing Pains movie did 15.1 million viewers last year so it was down about 20% but I think ABC is still very happy with it. I think it was hurt most by the Bears/Bucs game that went down to the last play. The Boston/St. Louis area probably wasn't included as it ran early there.

It ranked #51 out of about 123 shows. The Growing Pains movie did 15.1 million viewers last year so it was down about 20% but I think ABC is still very happy with it. I think it was hurt most by the Bears/Bucs game that went down to the last play. The Boston/St. Louis area probably wasn't included as it ran early there.
