Okay I have an income tax refund check question for Canadians who post here. On Friday (June 11, 2004) I recieved an income tax refund check of $52,646 from both the Quebec and Canadian governments. My gross income from last year was approx $110,312 (my hubby's was approx $86,215). We have written off our automobile insurance (both my hubby and I that is- I don't drive a car), our life insurance, and our unused Quebec health insurance. We also get back 100% of the Quebec sales tax credit, and 30% of the GST tax credit. Has anybody from Canada (or Quebec) get such a huge tax credit? I have contacted my tax agent, and she tells me that I get back exactely what is owed to me. I know I get profit sharing from my company (the motion picture industry), but that seems to be alot of money that the government owes me.
I don't understand this!!
