Default In which episode...?

I know this'll sound really vague, but I was just wondering if anyone knows which episode these pieces of dialog take place...

Bubba: Grandmaw, I need money to go to the drive-in/movies
Mama:...it better not be one of them sexy movies!!
Bubba: no..it's (gruesome name)
Mama: that sounds fine

I know it's really vague...but if anyone can help!

Yeah, I remember the line but not which episode! It's so clear in my mind, too!

Sorry!

I have scanned through all of my syndicated ep tapes searching for the quote as well, but no luck. I have come across 2 or 3 other "going to the movies" quotes, but not this one...

The only other thing I can think of...is that it seems like it was early on, when Alan first joined the cast. Either that, or it's one of the last 3 or 4 episodes of the series (which I don't have on tape)...

I think it is the episode where mama is in jail. It's the episode dealing with homelessness in the US. But I could be wrong.

Well, you're half right. That episode shows Mama & Iola on their way to the Rayplex to see a Mel Gibson movie...

Other eps see Bubba have a date at the drive-in, needing $20 for the movies, and seeing "Bloodbath on Oak Street", and of course, the quote from my original post...

You also see Fran and the kids going to see "Gandhi" (though in this 1983 episode, Mama wanted to see "ET"...would these 1982 films have been in theaters a year later?), and in one episode Vint & Naomi planning to go to the drive-in...

LOL! I know just about every instance the Harpers went to the movies, except the time I mentioned above!!

In todays episode (the MOP episode in which Mama and Iola are boycotting Food Circus for selling Casanova magazine to minors) Mama grounded Bubba for possessing the magazine,. After he was ungrounded he told her that he was going to see a movie. She wanted to know if it was a porn movie(so to speak) and he said no that it was some Zombie movie and she said, "Ok that's fine". Is this the eppie that you are thinking of?

Yep, that's the one! I actually found this out for myself about 2 days ago after watching through one of my older tapes of 3rd season eps...funny how I remember it being that he needed money for the movie. I guess I just got it confused with all the countless other times he asked for money...
