Default Funny actors/actresses that aren't "comedians"

John Ritter was no-doubt one of the funniest people ever, but he wasn't a real "comedian"

I dont think he did standup, he was more of an actor.

Those are good, and I would also add Michael J. Fox to the list. He was hilarious and not a comedian.

Woody Harrelson, Shelley Long (she's an actress, though people like to call her a comedienne), Danny DeVito (right?), Whoopi Goldberg, Goldie Hawn....are we limiting this to TV?

Shelley Long actually was a comedienne, she used to perform in Second City.

Im pretty sure Goldie Hawn was a comedienne too, I mean -- Laugh In was for comics, not actors.

Kelsey Grammer was one of those few odd ones that was an actor originally, but took a stab at standup.
From what Ive seen he was alright -- he should stick to sitcoms though.

Oh, you meant actors/actresses who weren't originally "comedians."

Wasn't Julia Louis-Dreyfus in SNL?

I'm guessing the original poster meant actors/actresses who originally weren't stand-up comedians. Comedian can mean someone who performs stand-up, but can also mean someone who does slapstick, or someone who acts in a comedy.

Lucille Ball didn't do stand-up comedy, but she absolutely was a comedienne. Ritter was a comedian, too.

yes and yes.

For example....
Tim Allen is a comedian.
Ted Danson, an actor.

By comedian I mean people who did stand-up.
Sorry for any confusion.

You mean people who did stand-up AND sketch comedy, right? Because Long and Hawn never did stand-up, just sketch comedy. Hawn was actually only hired to look cute and dance for that show. She's a rare case: she went from gogo dancer to oscar-winning actress lol. Don't mean to be a pain, just curious.
