John Mahoney possibly joining L&O:Trial by Jury - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

LAW & ORDER: TRIAL BY JURY (NBC) - Candice Bergen ("Murphy Brown") and John Mahoney ("Frasier") are in talks to join the rotating ensemble cast of the upcoming "Law & Order" spin-off. "Law & Order" veterans Carey Lowell and Jerry Orbach are also in talks to appear in the new series however no firm casting deals have been made for the project. Lowell and Orbach would of course reprise their roles of Jamie Ross and Lennie Briscoe while Bergen and Mahoney are reportedly up to play judges on the series.

Murphy Brown + Martin Crane as judges = a L&O show Id actually like.

Good for them.

Yet, as much as I like Bergen and Mahoney, I still don't know if I'll be able to sit through a L&O show. Nothing against the show...I just don't like legal dramas.
Oh heck, I'd give it a try anyway.

Im not a huge fan of dramas overall, but just seeing them together may hold my interest.
Who knows.... maybe L&O will be my new "thing"??

I myself don't like too many dramas aside from The Sopranos, but L&O is a good franchise.

I love the original L&O and I enjoy SVU. Criminal Intent I never could get into though. But this new spinoff sounds like they are trying something different, and with Carey Lowell and Jerry Orbach almost definites, and this news of Martin and Murphy I will definitely be watching this. Course...I would have anyway.

I'm with you. I could never get into Criminal Intent but I love L&0, and SVU and actually think SVU is now the best of the franchise. This new show looks interesting so I'll give it a try.
