It seemed that most of the episodes were about the main four. And sometimes, they weren't even on the show. Was there ever a mention of how they originally started dating? I can't think of a funny episode with Lionel and Jenny. Was never a huge Jeffersons watchers. I can't remember junk like I can Good Times.

I never liked Jenny. I don't know if it was because i wasn't attracted to her or that she never made me laugh. It might be both reasons. |

I hate to go on about this but if Mike Evans had stayed on the show there could have been alot of unny scenes with them. If Jenny wasn't funny Mike surely would have compensated for both!

I don't think Jenny was designed to be funny per se but she was a catalyst. No Jenny= no conflict with the Willises and George.
I remember some of the plots with she and Lionel, but it was odd to see her still around after Mike Evans quit. She didn't add much to the show without him there. It's true she wasn't this sexy fox like Thelma on Good Times so she wasn't really all that distinct to male viewers at least. I chalk up her rather flat personality to the 70s when black women roles were just coming into their own on TV. |

This brings up another off topic issue: Jenny had a lot of education and Louise had her husband and probably a HS diploma but how educated or skilled was Helen? She was a housewife but she seemed quite educated. With grown kids she could have been a professional woman of some sort and I guess if she were George would have another reason for resenting the Willises because he would feel that Helen was putting women's lib ideas into Weezie's head. |

To find how they started dating, yo probably would have to back to the All in the Family era of Lionel. Somewhere around 73-74. |

I liked Lionel and Jenny. I don't know if their characters were really necessary, but I liked watching the lovebirds.
