Fate has a man for Kate

This is my first fanfic and it has a pretty rough start.
But I hope you all like it!

The entire Division had been working for 5 weeks now on a case that had taken a toll on all the woman detectives. A rapist had attacked 5 woman and left not a single finger print or seman sample, all the woman had been beaten terribly but all lived.
They had no leads at all, just a city wide alert that read,

" To all woman between the ages of 35 and 45 that live alone,
a rapist has been attacking midlle aged red headed woman at their homes the police are close to catching him, but ask that anyone that fits this discription take extra procautions to protect them selfs"

Putting out an alert that siad to protect yourself made Kate sick. How could she not have one single clue as to who he is or why he's doing this? She didn't know what to do.
It was friday night and all of her inspectors where on the streets because the attacks all happened on Friday between 10 and 11 pm. Kate was going home because she couldn't take one more Friday night of watching the town and hearing the next morning that she had failed and their was another rape. So she would go home and wait by the phone to hear where it happened this time.

She left the division as always, with a breif case full of files to go over.She was watching the streets carfully as she drove, hoping to find him, little did she know, he had found her.

It was 9:45 when kate unlocked her front door, and befor she knew what was happening she fell to the ground, with a pain in the back of her head. Suddenly he was ontop of her from behind
and as he turned her around to face him she relized who he was and he started to speak,"Miss me bitch?" he hit her once very hard acroos the face. As she passed out all she could say was,"I should've known" His name was Rob Kason, Kate sent him to jail her first year as captain. He had held a woman and raped her for 7 days and Kate was the one that found and arrested him. She thought he was still in prison in another state,he had escaped.
When Kate woke the first thing she felt was her head pounding, she relized then that she was in a car, in the back seat with her hands tied behind her back,"Where are you taking me Rob?" as he spoke he reached back and touched her leg"A place where I can have alot of fun with you baby" "You know they'll catch you, it doesnt matter what you do to me, they will find you" Suddenly the car stopped and he pulling her out of the car by her hair. They were in the mountains,she knew this trail but didn't remember why, yet.
He threw her down on the ground and was standing over her.Kate used this position to kick him as hard as she could in the crotch, and he fell over in pain, Kate got up and started to run,
but he was right behind her.He grabbed her by the neck and she let out a scream, all at once she was on the ground and he was ripping her clothes off. He hit her across the face every time she screamed Kate closed her eyes and stoped fighting relizing it was going to happen no matter what she did. As a tear started to roll down her face she was shocked to feel him get off of her, when she opened her eyes, she saw another man. The second man had pulled Rob off of her and was beating the hell out of him.
When Rob was knocked out, the second man started to turn to Kate but, she turned away, because her clothes were all over the ground. Befor she could say anything the man spoke and she knew his voice all to well." Miss I'm going to come closer to you and cover you with my coat then I'll untie you Is that ok?" He was moving very slow so he didn't scare her, then he almost screamed when she looked up at him and said,"Ross is that really you?" "oh my god Kate" he wraped his coat around her and untied her hands witch she threw around him and began to cry.
He hugged her until her sobs slowed and then pulled back"Kate, I'm gonna tie him up then I'll call the division ok?" she shook her head yes and pulled his coat tighter around her.

In minutes there was a dozen cop cars and two ambulances.
Ross helped Kate over to an ambulance and she climed in with Raina and Jinny already inside waiting to take a statment. She told them what had happened on the way to the hospital.
She asked then to be left alone for the rest of the night.
After the doctor had sewn up the cuts on her face she was given a private room.It was now 1:20 in the morning and Kate knew there would be no sleep that night.The door to her room opened and Ross peaked his head in"May I come in?" "yes please do"
Hewalked over to the bed and sat next to her.Kate started,"What were you doing ther Ross" "I took you there once it's my favorite trail to run" Kate"I knew it was familiar" She started to cry and he asked,"May I hold you please?" she shook her head yes and moved over on the bed showing him that she ment for him to hold her all night. He layed down next to her and wraped his arms around her, Kate buiried her head in in his chest and cries, sobbed really, most of the night.

It was 6 am when Kate opened her eyes and looked up at Ross.
Kate,"Your still here" Ross,"Of corse I am I couldn't leave you. I asked Raina if I should call Louis last night but she said you two had broken up, I wasn't going to leave you here alone.Not after what happened" He looked down at the floor as he finished speaking. Then it was Kates turn, she pulled back and looked at Ross in the eyes,"Ross you came out of nowhere last night and saved me from re-living the worst thing that ever happened to me.Maybe it was fate that you were there but what ever it was,
thank you from the bottom of my heart. He woold have raped me all night then killed me I know that was his plann and you saved me." she statred to cry again. Ross was very careful about where he put his hands but he had to touch her while he said this, so he put both of his hands on either of her knees,"Kate, maybe it was fate but you don't need to thank me, I didn't even know it was you untill after I knocked him out.And I just thank god that I got there in time. I did get there in time right? He didn't get um.."
His voice faded out and she piped up,"No he didn't get inside of me"Ross,"oh baby thank god"
He held her again and this time they both cried.

Kate was released from the hospital the next day and asked for Ross to take her home instead of Raina.Neither Ross nor Raina understood why shy wanted to be around a man so much instead of a woman but they said nothing. On the way home kate asked Ross if he had a girlfriend that would be upset that he was with her and he responded,"No, I had the best and I lost her, no one since you baby." Kate smiled at his loving words then said,"Well, maybe could you stay with me tonight at the house I don't want to be alone." Ross." of corse" Then he reached over without thinking and touched her leg, Kate jumped away from his touch and in unison they both said,"I'm sorry" Ross continued with,"don't be sorry for anything Kate, I get to close tell me to back off" Kate reached over to hold his hand and said,"After the way things ended between us why are you being so good to me?" Ross parked the car in Kate's driveway and kissed her hand as he turned the car off," Kate, what happened last night, I would have killed the guy if I knew it was you I heard scream. when we ended you were just trying to put your family back together, at least thats what I thought and I understood that. But after last night, I can't emagine leaving your side. I'm still in love with you Kate, that's why I'm being so good to you."
With that he got out of the car and went around to her door and opened it for her. Kate stood up and put her hands on his face,"I never stopped loving you either." she kissed him softly on the lips and they went inside hand in hand.

They went inside and Kate stopped just inside the door, looking down at a broken vase, she didn't even remember how that had happened. Ross stayed back from her but had to ask,"Would you like me to clean that up?" Kate started to walk to the kitchen and responded,"No thank you I need to do it myself, But um, I would love it if you would make some of that wonderfull pasta of yours."
She got out a dust pan and brume and turned back around to face Ross as he spoke,"I can do that Kate" She said thank you and went back to the pantry and pulled out a larg bottle of wiskey and put it in the freezer without a word.
Ross knew her kitchen and went to work quikly on dinner, Kate went to the front room and cleaned up the mess from last night.
She then went up stairs and took a shower, a long shower.

When Kate came downstairs, Ross was just putting dinner on the table.Kate noticed that next to her plate was wine, wiskey, and soda. She raised an eyebrow and Ross said,"I wasn't sure what you wanted to start with. Please come sit." he pulled out her chair and she sat down saying,"I'm sorry I didn't show you where anything was and just left you in here alone but, I had to get clean." Ross took his place across from her and said," I remembered where everything was, It's ok." They smiled at each other and eat in silence. After dinner they sat down in the living room to watch an old movie and Ross noticed that she had brought her bottle of wiskey and two glasses. "Kate, are you sure you want to be drinking?" She looked down and poured herself a glass,"yes I am sure, I am also sure that eventually you are going to ask me what I meant when I said you saved me from re-living the worst thing that ever happened to me so I will save you the trouble and just tell you" Ross took the bottle and poured himself a glass saying,"You dont need to tell me anything Kate if you dont want to you know that" she had finished her first drink and was starting another. She told him the story that Rob, the man from yesterday started his sick rampage 30 years ago, with her. They had dated and when he found out that she was sleeping with someone else, he kept her locked up for 2 weeks because of her cheating he said.Kate told Ross that she couldnt count the number of beatings or rapes,and that one day he just let her walk out the door. She never new why he did it. he spent 20 years in a mental hospital and when they let him he went after another woman, she lived the same hell Kate did, but this time Kate was there to save her. She thought he was still locked up and didnt know why no one had called to tell her he was out.
By the time she was finished Kate had had around 4 glasses of wiskey and Ross had as well. Ross,"Wow, my god Kate I had no idea." "no one does, I never even told Louis. But I don't want to talk about it anymore. I finally said the words to another human being and I feel free now.Free to move on with my life, with you?"
she raised an eyebrow to pose the statement as a quiestion.
He moved closer to her and touched her face," I'd love that"
Kate kissed him then with a passion he wasnt expecting.and as she began to crawl onto his lap he stoped her saying, "Kate, you cant really want this, like this, right now.I know you dont"
She responded with," yes I do. I want you to erase the feeling of him ontop of me. I want to feel you kiss my neck and touch me I dont want to feel him any more!" She had started to cry and as Ross put his arms around her she colapsed into him sobbing again. And just as the night befor, she fell asleep in his arms crying.

I know I know, that was terribly sad. But the next part will be about truely moving on... no more sad stuff I promise!!

Hay everyone! I pulled my back out yesterday, so this will be a short but sweet posting!Hope you all like it, let me know.

In the next few weeks, Kate had beed dealing very well.She and Ross were seeing each other at least three times a week, but still hadn't slept together yet. Kate wondered if it had anything to do with how they had reconnected, and when she brought it up to Ross he had suggested she go to counseling.
At first she was upset with him but eventually gave in admitting she hadn't really delt was her past.She was seeing a shrink twice a week and was really making progress, she felt she was ready to be with Ross again.
It had been a month and a half since the attack and Kates biggest concern was that Ross wasn't ready to be with her, because of what she had told him. So Kate invited him to a home cooked meal at her house, she was wearing a new green dress (Ross's favorite color on her) that was cut very low.
And it paid off, when she opened the door to him, he stood back a little saying,"Kate, you look gorgeous." She smiled from ear to ear and replied with a kiss. Kate," Please come in, I see you brought more of your wonderfull wine." She took the bottle from his hands and he moved closer to her, putting his hands on her waist and kissed her with more intencity than he had in a long time. Finally breaking apart Ross said," I just had to do that."
Kate put the bottle down on the table next to them and wraped her arms around his neck saying," Then don't stop, dinner can wait." She planted a kiss on him then that was unmistakably inviting. When she pulled back she took his hand and stepped further back onto the stairs, he looked up at her with a questioning eye. Kate pulled him back into her arms wispering in his ear," I want to make love to you Ross, slow, all night long"
Ross couldn't resist that, he picked her up and carried her up the stairs.
As they went in Kates room, he let her feet slip down to the ground, and she led them both to her bed, pushing Ross to sit on it. She was standing infront of him and unbuttoning his shirt as he ran his hands over the lenght of her body. She took his shirt off and tossed it to the floor, kissing him. Ross slowly began to unzip her dress moaning a little as he did so. Kate stepped back and pulled her dress off her shoulders, letting it fall to the ground and kicking it off her feet. Ross stood up to her, put his hands on her waist and kissed her neck finally ending up at her ear where he said in a low voice," You just keep getting better and better!"
They started kissing and he picked her up again, this time she wraped her legs around his waist with a little moan of her own.
Ross backed up to the bed and sat them both down, falling back to lay down, Kate pulled away from his kiss and went to work on getting his pants off.

They made love just as Kate hed wanted, slow and most of the night. Not going down stairs to eat dinner untill around 1 am.
He stayed with her that night, falling asleep wraped in each others arms, telling each other how much they loved the other.

Kate woke up the next morning still tucked safely in Ross's arms.
She looked up at his face and saw his eyes already open. He kissed her forhead and said," Good morning Kate" She leaned up and returned his kiss, on the lips saying," Very good morning." They kissed a little more then snuggled back down together, his arm around her shoulders, hers laying on his chest. She started to speak in a soft bedroom voice," Ross, you need to know that last night was the first time in my life that I have givin myself over to someone like that. So completely, so fully, I've never givin controll to a man like that. Ever." He placed a finger on her lips and said," shhhh, You don't have to say it, I know it. I noticed and felt the change.Last night was incriedable, I never knew you could be that soft. I mean, you've always been wonderfull in bed, last night was just a differant kind of wonderfull." Kate smiled as she kissed him passionatly, moving to be ontop of him. They stayed like that for a long while. Kate finally reached between them into his boxers, touching him, she spoke again in a raspy voice," again, I want you again." Ross swept her underneath him and dropped his head below the sheets.. Kate writhed in passion finally screaming out in climax. Ross apeared from under the sheets and buiried his head in her chest, she placed her hands in his hair and gave it a little tug saying,"Oh my god Ross, your amazing."

It was a Saturday, and they spent the day going back and forth from the kitchen to the bed room. They couldn't get enough of each other. They were both enjoying Kate's new found freedom, and taking the oportunity to try new things.

Kate and Ross had spent the weekend together, never even leaving the house. It was now Sunday night and they were enjoying a movie together, curled up in each others arms on the couch. As the end creidits started rolling, Kate turned over ontop of Ross and planted a kiss on him.After a while they pulled apart and He spoke,"What was that for?" Kate smiled and replied,"Well,
just a small thank you. I have grown so much this weekend, and you have been so wonderful. And I was hoping we could talk about maybe moving in together." She looked down and he raised her face with a finger saying," Nothing would make me happier than to wake up every morning to your face. I want to live together. But, what if Jill brings Katie-ann back, will she leave her here with me here to?" Kate kissed him again and said," I don't think I'll get her back but if the chance arose, I would take her back. Jill wouldn't have anything to say about you and I. But, what would you think about it if Katie-ann came home?"
Ross smiled and replied,"I would think just that, that Katie-ann was home. I'v never had children so I don't know what kind of help I would be to you but, I would love to try." It was Kates turn to smile this time as she replied," You really are the best man I've ever had." They chukled a little, and began kissing again, growing more and more intense. Kate was now sitting ontop of him kissing his neck and unbuttoning his shirt, as his hands carresed her breasts. Just as they let out a moan together, the doorbell rang.
Kate grawled a little as she started to get up. Ross pulled her back down on the couch saying,"I will it. Since this is going to be my home to." She smiled and bit the side of her lip. As he reached the door Kate yelled out," Make them go away"

Ross opened the door and was more than a little surprised that it was Louis standing infront of him. Befor Ross could say anything Louis spoke," What the hell are you doing back here?"
Kate apeared behind Ross after hearing Louis voice, and put her arms around Ross waist saying," He lives here Louis, what the hell are you doing here?" Louis stepped back a little in shock saying," I just found out that Rob got out again, and came after you. I wanted to know if you were ok." Kate stepped infront of Ross and seemed to be getting angry she turned to him and said," Ross honey can you give me a minute?" He shook his head yes and went into the kitchen. Kate then turned back aroiund to Louis and started to speake loudly," Why are you here Louis, to tell me again thats my fault, or to say that that was what I got for cheating again! I will never forget the way you acted last time he got out. You wouldn't even touch me for six months you son of a bitch! Thank god that I found a real man, he saved me from Rob and made me feel like a whole woman again Louis. You never even tried to put me back together you just tore me apart."
A tear fell onto her cheek and he began saying he was sorry," Im so sorry Kate, I was such an ass. I felt like it was my fault, because I wasnt there to protect you. I am so sorry." He turned then and left without another word. Kate shut the door and turned around to see Ross standing behind her. She walked into his open arms and cried just a little. When she lifted her head, and wiped her tears away she said with a smile," Enough of that, I don't ever want to think of Rob again. No more Rob, no more Louis, just you and me starting our new life together."

Over the next week they moved Ross into Kates house. They loved living together, and were talking marrage in no time.
