Stephen King's IT and Clowns in horror movies - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Just got the It movie today Steven king movie. It's a long movie so IO probably will wacth it later,I wacthed The Lord Of the Rings last week and that was long,but I think that the 3rd movie was one of the best one out of the series.But It, I have not seen it for a long time either, all I remember is the clown. Also do you like wacthing movies with Clowns, I also remember Poltergiest Clown. TheY(CLOWNS) just seem eerie,seems like they have there own personality's.

I have read the book and seen the movie. I liked the book better. It's one of those things where it is a good idea to read the novel before you see the movie. I didn't know what was going on when I first saw the film because I didn't read the book, which explains a lot. Pennywise is creepy. I still can't believe that is Tim Curry under a lot of makeup.

I saw some of IT when I was really young, I haven't seen it again since- though I keep intending to rent it, because I was so young when I saw it that I still think it's the scariest thing ever! But, the clown still creeps me out ALOT, I can't believe it's Tim Curry either!

I read the book, then saw the movie when it was originally shown on television with a guy I was dating at the time. As usual, loved the book more than the movie. What ruined it - again - was the tail end. Actually, it didn't really ruin the entire movie for me, but it was a huge disappointment. As for Tim Curry, he's a wonderful actor and was perfect as Pennywise (imo). But he wasn't the only thing about it that made it enjoyable, because you can't forget the young cast we're introduced to in the beginning. I think they all gave terrific performances.

Clowns aren't my favorite thing in the world, but yeah I'll watch them in movies. There's something very unsettling about them, as if they're hiding behind that mask and you have no idea what's going on in there. Poltergeist was very good.

I've always loved that movie, and I saw it when it first came on TV in 1990. I was eight years old then, so I was far too young to read the book, but it did a very good job of freaking me out. My mom is a huge Stephen King fan, so I grew up knowing all of his books and movies. I'm finally getting around to reading the book, but it's kind of hard for me to watch the movie again. My favorite part about it was the relationships between all the kids and adults, and now both Jonathan Brandis and John Ritter are gone - my two favorites. It's just sad

I saw IT when I was really little, my mom is a big Stephen King fan. I love all the movies based on his books, especially The Green Mile.

That movie has been known to scar many people. To me, it's scary (damn clowns!), hilarious and truly bizarre.

I think I was about 11 when I saw IT for the first time. It terrified me to death (I was afraid of IT and for weeks I'd be all paranoid about IT lurking under my bed or watching me).

The one scene that stands out in my mind is when the girl (whats her name?) has tea with that old lady in her old house but the old lady turns into a skeleton and was IT all along. That scared me so much as a child. I also got freaked when Georgie was killed, when Georgie's picture winked at his older brother after he died. Oh and when the kids were in having dinner as adults and their food turned into gross freaky stuff but no one else could see it. And what was that bit when the fat kid saw the skeleton in that pond? I vaguly remember that.

I do remember that the ending was pathetic though, even when I was 11 I was SO disappointed by the ending and that silly spider. I hear it's different in the book?

Damn I haven't seen this movie since I was like, 15. I REALLY need to rent it again.

You're thinking of Beverly. That particular scene did a number on me, too. Also, when they're down in the sewers and one of the boys is pulled into that long tunnel, only to come out with completely white hair. Creepy, creepy.
