The missing cheese...
I was thinking. When that wheel of cheese was rolling down that vent, it must have picked up lots of dead bugs along the way. Live ones too. There may have been rat dropings in it too.
By the time Raven ate it, it must have been covered in dried crispy dead bugs, chewy live bugs and other things. Yuk.
