James Woods stars as James Woods, a cigar-smoking, womanizing wine and beer drinking, poker-playing party planner. That's right, he's a party planner. Well, he used to be an investment banker and then he had a mid-life crisis and left his wife and kids. His new partner in his new business is free-spirited left-wing super liberal Cyndi Felding (Sarah Polley), a Canadian who just recently dumped her semi-conservative boyfriend (he decided to become semi-conservative because she bugged the hell out of him). She is replaced 17 episodes in by Sabrina Block (Sabrina Lloyd), a more upbeat, less liberal party planner. Also working as a party planner is James' recently unemployed car salesman brother Derrick (Steve Carell) who has decided to bring along his best friend Owen (Dave Foley) and their cousin Norm (Rip Torn) to work for the business as well, despite James' hatred for them. Rounding out the "Wood Co." staff is Stella Garcia (Anna Harris), a 40-something half-Puerto Rican/half-Black woman who lives next door to James. They run the business out of James' NYC apartment, which now looks like an office. "Woods" is an innovative new workplace comedy that is expected to yuck you up!
