Default Another NBC Blooper

Mama mentioned having 4 screaming kids in todays episode about Fran's dress. I know there are conflicting facts in the NBC and syndicated eps but even on NBC only 3 children were ever alluded to, that being Eunice, Ellen and Vint. Who was the 4th? Was this referring to the Mama skits on The Carol Burnett Show?

I noticed this before, and the only thing that I can figure out is that maybe the 4th kid is Iola. I mean in all the flashback episodes, Iola is always there. Just a thought...............

I think it was just an oversite on the part of the writing team for that episode. Since it was near the very beginning, they probably thought they might have Mama have 4 kids, but it didn't work out. But even on The Carol Burnett Show didn't Mama only have Eunice, Ellen, and that son (not like Vinton) who was a screenwriter? I don't know for sure.

Good Idea!!!! The "other son" you are talking about was named Phillip. Anyway, I remember on a Carol Burnett sketch where Mama had yet another son. I can't remember his name, but it was during christmas sketch. This is probably what happened..................but who knows

Thanks, I haven't seen many of the Mama sketches and had only seen the one son. That is probably it, and then they decided that would just be too complicated.

And on the CBS sketches Eunice was said to have 2 sons but this was never acknowledged in the Mama's Family series. Oh well............. That's Show Biz!

Thank you! I haven't caught the dress episode in a long time, and I forgot the mentioning of 4 kids was in that episode. But everytime the NBC episodes come on, I have been keeping my ears peeled for that blooper and exactly what was said, so I could talk about it here. I see I keep missing the episode it is on.

I guess that high-achiever, Phillip wasn't forgotten about when the tv series started. Oh... this show and it's bloopers...

Actually Mama had at least 6 kids!

Ellen, Eunice, Vint, Philip, Jack, and Larry.

(though o' course the last 3 in the list were only on TCBS).
