Default Nick@Nite Scores Most-Watched May Ever Among Adults 18-49 in May 2004

Nick at Nite Scores Most-Watched May Ever Among Adults 18-49 in May 2004

Boasts Double-Digit Prime-Time and Total-Day Growth for Month

Santa Monica, CA, June 2, 2004 - For May 2004, Nick at Nite scored its most-watched May ever in its 19-year history in its target audience of Adults 18-49 and finished as the #1 basic cable network among Women 18-49. The network also continued to score double-digit growth across major demos in all key dayparts and hold its place among basic cable's Top 5 networks in prime time (ranked #4 in total viewers and among Women 18-49) for May 2004.

According to Nielsen Media Research, in prime time (9pm-11pm), Nick at Nite averaged 1.8 million total viewers - up +11% over last year. The network averaged a 0.5/559,000 among Adults 18-49, up +10% in delivery. Among Women 18-49 in prime, Nick at Nite posted a 0.8/399,000, up +33% in rating and a +19% delivery increase over prior-year levels.

In total day (9pm-6am), Nick at Nite averaged 1.3 million total viewers, an increase of +9% over last year. In its target A18-49 demo, the network posted a 0.6/662,000, a rise of +14% in delivery. Among Women 18-49, Nick at Nite averaged a 0.9/454,000, a +29% increase in rating and a +30% rise in delivery over last year, out-delivering the number-two network by +23%.

Highlights of Nick at Nite's May 2004 performance include:

- "Sitcom Super Moms," the network's Mother's Day salute hosted by Everybody Loves Raymond star Doris Roberts (5/5/04 from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.) posted a 0.9/947,000, a whopping increase of +125% in rating and +105% in delivery. Among persons 2+, the network drew 1.8 million total viewers, up +70% over last year.

- Full House (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) averaged a 0.6/606,000 for the month of May - up +20% in rating and +19% in delivery. Among total viewers, the show drew 2.3 million persons 2+, +25% more than that same time period last year.

- Roseanne (11 p.m. -12 a.m.), the network's highest-rated program, posted a 0.9/902,000, up +50% in rating and +55% in delivery over last year. The show drew 1.7 million persons 2+, an increase of +21% over last year.

The Cosby Show is no longer the highest rated program? Yes!

I think Roseanne holds up better personally. Even tho the last few seasons of Roseanne were nothing special, I think they are a lot better than the last 2 seasons of Cosby. There's more "good" episodes of Roseanne than The Cosby Show IMO.

I agree, I am not a big fan of Roseanne (although I do watch it when I need something to watch at 11pm or 2am), but I do think it holds up better in the rewatchability department than Cosby. The last two seasons of Cosby were absolutely horrible, there is really no other word for it. Roseanne's last two were not great, but they were better than Cosby.

Once again, no news on how TCS is doing.
Maybe its slipping, who knows??

I think they should cut back to just the 12:00-1:00 hour, and give WTB? 10-11.

The Cosby Show is their second higest rated program right now. 12-1am does better than 10-11pm though. Full House draws more total viewers because more families watch it together, but Cosby has more households.

who wants to bet the success of Full House (as opposed to how shows like Family Matters and Growing Pains are beginning to phase out of reruns) has something to do with a certain set of twins that every perverted male is counting the days down for their 18th bday?

Yep, that is probably it. Because Growing Pains and Family Matters are much better than Full House. I for one wish the Olsen twins would just go away.

Family Matters is still pretty strong in reruns though. It gets an hour on ABC Family and I got it on a local station too. Growing Pains, however, will be off the air later this month. I am unhappy about that.

Wow, Cosby Show isnt doing that great, it seems. Well, TBS is dropping it in July, and if it keeps scoring low rartings, maybe Nick@Nite will drop it. Yay, maybe we'll have a period of time without Cosby Show!

TCS is N@N's second highest rated show. I don't think they'll be dropping it anytime soon. I think the reason why it's doing so poorly on TBS is because everybody is tuning into N@N to watch it.
