Default Thoughts of Lamont's fiancee Janet?

Since the announcement of the 5th season DVD release; I am curious of what other Sanford and Son fans thought of Lamont's girlfriend, Janet; who, was played by Billy Dee Williams' ex-wife, Marlene Clark...

They should've gotten married. She was the only one of his women who seemed comfortable going over to the house. And her and Fred seemed to like each other. That's odd right there, as much as Fred used to spoil Lamont's dates.

To be honest I never liked the storyline. I thought she was boring and she brought nothing to the show, except they needed to give Lamont's character a more mature plot.

I third that sentiment. I mean she was o.k but she brought nothing to the show.

too bad that she was such a boring character, but she did add a certain maturity to the Lamont character; I wanted them to get married because I thought Lamont and Janet were a cute couple...

I love the show Sanford and Son, but I do agree that the 6th season was the show demise, especially the Hawaiian Connection Episodes, which were pretty dull, and that is when the show definitely JUMPED THE SHARK

I didn't really like her but it would have been good if they would have gotten married on the last episode. I guess they never did since she was never mentioned in the sequel series Sanford and Lamont was in Alaska.

I thought it was had made a great ending, if everyone on Sanford and Son knew that the 6ht season was going to be their last; to have like a double wedding of Lamont and Janet and Fred and Donna...

That would have been a great final episode. Its to bad they couldn't get the cast back sometime the next season because Redds variety show only lasted a few months but I guess by that time Demond Wilson was starring in Baby I'm Back.

Sorry for my inferior grammar in my last post; I even had a hard time reading it,but getting back to what we were discussing. Demond Wilson landed the role on Baby, I'm Back in the 1978/79 fall season, two years after the final episode of Sanford and Son which ended during the 1976/77 season; then he appeared in a couple of episodes of the Love Boat, then he played Oscar Madison in the African-American version of the Odd Couple, this show lasted only a season as well, which was too bad, because though it lacks originality, it was an entertaining show.

It depends on what you mean... If you
mean what I think of her I think she
was really hot.

If you mean the character I think she
is boring and as the others said she
really brings nothing new.

I recently saw en episode of McCloud that Marlene Clark appeared; she was very beautiful; of course, she was once married to Billy Dee Williams
