Default The Next Seasons Need to Come Out

Does anyone know why the following sitcoms have no news for the next seasons? It seems like we would have heard news, or the next seasons of the shows would be out by now.

The Jeffersons: Season 2 (May 13, 2003)
King of the Hill: Season 2 (November 11, 2003)
The Larry Sanders Show: Season 1 (February 26, 2002)
Mad About You: Season 2 (April 22, 2003)
Malcolm in the Middle: Season 1 (October 29, 2002)
The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 1 (September 24, 2002)
Strangers with Candy: Season 2 (November 4, 2003)

with Larry Sanders, I heard that the first season sold considerably less than Columbia hoped, and they wound up cancelling plans for further seasons, even tho I don't think writing Columbia would hurt. They cancelled all plans for future Charlie's Angels DVD's after the first season didn't sell what they hoped, and after enough people complained, Columbia agreed to release season 2.

Malcolm is being tied up with music rights and the sort. I have no clue why Mary Tyler Moore season 2 hasn't come out yet on DVD. Same with why there hasn't been a third Mad About You DVD yet.

FOX was disappointed with the sales of Mary Tyler Moore season one. I believe there was a case where they put some bonus stuff on there that pushed up the price of the set, and the lack of sales has them concerned about releasing more. Malcolm is another FOX release, sales may have played a part in the season 2 release of that also.

I have....
The Jeffersons: Season 2 (May 13, 2003)
The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 1 (September 24, 2002)

and plan on buying....
The Larry Sanders Show: Season 1 (February 26, 2002)

And Im DYING to hear whether more seasons will come, especially with Mary Tyler Moore and The Jeffersons.
FOX should just release MTM-Season2 cheap, seeing that the hard work is done (remastering episodes)

I think Malcolm season two is having music copyright problems.

Really? That blows.

My friend was asking me the other night why season 2 of "Larry Sanders" hasn't been released. It's one of my favorite programs, and DVD sets.

I think the problem is the price of the DVD sets. I got my second season set of Charlie's Angels for over 50 bucks. But there could be other people who are not fortunate enough to afford to get a season set for that price. Plus other season sets of shows sell at even higher prices, as much as 79 dollars.

I read at TVshowsondvd.com that they are considering splitting the Season 2 set of Lost in Space and selling them separately. I didn't like it at first and thought it was a turnoff but considering the cost of a complete season set isn't very cheap (like the second season of Charlie's Angels), I grew to accept it. I'd be more willing to buy a half a season at a lower price than to get the whole thing all at once for a lot more. I'll bet dollars to donuts that if they do that with other shows, then it will result in more sales. Now I understand that others might not agree with me on this but that is how I see it.

I got mine at Borders but I think they charge higher than other places like Best Buy.

One thing I thought of after my initial post in this thread was advertising. Am I the only one that rarely sees advertisements on TV or other places about TV shows on DVD?

I noticed that too. I do see commercials for cult shows such as Xena and Buffy/Angel DVD's tho, the Buffy/Angel commercials usually run during FX and syndicated airings of those programs, and Xena's commercials run during those too. But very rarely do you see promos for most tv shows on dvd. So usually the only people who know are people like us who keep up on this, and select fans of shows. But I suppose a lot of people will wander into a store and be "I had no idea Cheers was out on DVD"
