Default Most Realistic Sitcom??

That was shot in front of a studio audience, so something like The Wonder Years or The Larry Sanders Show don't count.

Square Pegs of course. I think that it is the most realistic look at high school life. As a teen I was a cross between Lauren and Johnny Slash.

Gilligan's Island is the perfect example of the "realistic sitcom"!

Many people consider Barney Miller to be the most realistic cop show.

Cheers and Wings

And if anyone doesn't think that people as dumb as Woody and Lowell can't exist, get a job in retail!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned All in the Family. There are two episodes that I find very realistic and creepy to boot. "Edith's 50th Birthday" (the one where a rapist tries to sexually assault Edith) and "Archie Gets Branded" (the one where a swastika is painted on the Bunker's door) are very realistic and powerful.
